YSK: Brendan Eich left Mozilla over his own homophobic beliefs. He is also a coronavirus denier.
Brave is homophobic Chrome with crypto on top
Fuck Brave. Just use Firefox.
That's not even the full extent of his homophobia. He also made donations to a politician who said that AIDS is a great thing and will purge the world of gay people.
He also gave an interview about the whole being pressured to leave Mozilla thing, and said he was disappointed in how intolerant of his beliefs Mozilla staff were once they became public knowledge.
Yes, you read that right, a man who wanted to strip gay people of their rights cried about fucking intolerance towards him. Clown.
And they tried to steal money while claiming it was donations for content creators.
Yes, honestly the most damning thing they've done, selling out their own users
Fake money
no the donation money was real. they added in buttons for supporting creators who had not opted in, swapped out affiliate links to go through them, and kept the money "in escrow" until the creator signed up. many people never did, and then they just kept that money they were holding on to.
I never liked Brave tbh, something about it felt sketchy with all the crypto stuff
I could hate JavaScript for free, I'm very thankful Brendan gave me an extra reason
Why do you hate JavaScript?
A good enough reason to ignore Brave tbqh
And he inflicted JavaScript upon the world, completely wrecking the World Wide Web. Fucker should burn in Hell for that, let alone the other stuff!
why i use vivaldi
Brave is a great browser, specially on older mobile. It is the default browser for the Nobara gaming linux distro, because it's so good, and recently ranked top tier browser by Pewdiepie.
Who is Pewdiepie?
Nonsense.
Browsers on iOS are all just Safari, there is no meaningful difference. On older Android FOSS Browser or Fennec + Ublock + Noscript are both faster and more stable than Brave.
i'm glad you accept that Brave is now default on 2 linux distributions
what you say about ios is true, but this is an android community, no?
my experience of using Brave on an s4 mini for almost 10 years was really very good. super-stable and the built-in adblocker made the best use of the limited memory than any other browser
really i was more interested in your description of Brave as an actively homophobic browser
why would a desktop distro care that a browser works well on mobile? what was their actual reason?
also, we already went over this: that tier list was not his. it was in his video because he was quoting another video. and if he did it fact rank browsers, what was the ranking based on?
you can't just say things.
I don't give a shit, to be honest. It's a question of morality for me.
which of your morals was infringed and when did it happen?
I never used Brave, and I never will because I don't want to be associated with or support bigotry. It might be the best browser in the world and I might be missing out, but homophobia isn't cool, so I'm fine with that.
Firefox works great for all my needs. π
It's default for Zorin as well now
