Brave is a great browser, specially on older mobile. It is the default browser for the Nobara gaming linux distro, because it's so good, and recently ranked top tier browser by Pewdiepie.
Who is Pewdiepie?
why would a desktop distro care that a browser works well on mobile? what was their actual reason?
also, we already went over this: that tier list was not his. it was in his video because he was quoting another video. and if he did it fact rank browsers, what was the ranking based on?
you can't just say things.
Nonsense.
Browsers on iOS are all just Safari, there is no meaningful difference. On older Android FOSS Browser or Fennec + Ublock + Noscript are both faster and more stable than Brave.
i'm glad you accept that Brave is now default on 2 linux distributions
what you say about ios is true, but this is an android community, no?
my experience of using Brave on an s4 mini for almost 10 years was really very good. super-stable and the built-in adblocker made the best use of the limited memory than any other browser
really i was more interested in your description of Brave as an actively homophobic browser
The company was founded and is headed by a homophobic anti-vaxxer. Plus, the browser is not secure and has been involved in several controversies in the oast for things like selling user data and running a crypto scam.
I don't give a shit, to be honest. It's a question of morality for me.
which of your morals was infringed and when did it happen?
I never used Brave, and I never will because I don't want to be associated with or support bigotry. It might be the best browser in the world and I might be missing out, but homophobia isn't cool, so I'm fine with that.
Firefox works great for all my needs. π
what event caused you to associate using Brave with supporting bigotry and being homophobic?
Your comment, that I replied to, replied to this comment. Did you notice what it said? This is something I've heard and read on other occasions as well.
I wouldn't become homophobic, but by using Brave I would feel like I'd be condoning or supporting homophobia and bigotry. And I have no interest in feeling like that.
It's default for Zorin as well now
