I'm from a different culture than my husband and my last name was a bureaucratic nightmare. Almost didn't make it into university because of computer mix ups, have had issues filing taxes, voting, getting a passport, settings basic IDs, getting insurance... It's endless. Changed my name as soon as I could, and even THAT process was hindered by my original name.

Bonuses: Distance myself from social media I had as a child. Harder for former stalkers to locate me if they decide to rekindle their previous obsessions. Don't need to upset one set of grandparents when you name your children one parent's last name and not the other. People stop asking me where I'm from and making racist assumptions about me. Everyone seems a lot friendlier now that they assume I'm [insert European white race here] instead of [insert non-white race here] and that's despite the fact that I'm clearly white. Racism is wild. My signature is way shorter.

Not saying this should be the norm, but I was happy it was a socially acceptable option for me.

Becoming Russia's toy won't exactly help matters along in that regard. Plus then there's the tariffs which he has no idea how they work.

I just finished two books by him (between two fires and blacktongue thief) and really enjoyed both. I'll add this one to my TBR list!

Someone You Can Build a Nest In.

A funny little romance as told from the point of view of the monster terrorizing a town. She tries her best to woo a human and actually is a pretty supportive partner. It's so weird and I love it.

My own experience is that the lower and side areas around the opening going into the vagina are a lot more stimulating than the clitoris, which makes penetrative sex so much better. This is not very common for women, but it might apply to your partner. Applying gentle pressure to these areas is good for me so that could be something to try. Gauge her reaction. I believe this preference is very uncommon, and I've had partners refuse to believe I like it, so I'm not very open about it anymore.

Losing all of the skills you gain. No matter how good you get at something, after a few centuries you'll have lost your edge. You can also only practice so many things concurrently without giving something up. At some point, years down the line, you might try to ride a bike again and completely fail to do it, or try to sing and fail to hit all the notes that came easily before, or do gymnastics but the muscles you need are underused. It doesn't matter that you spent years mastering every skill, your abilities will degrade over time. You'll never really be able to feel sure about your own abilities except for whatever you've done most recently.

Sorry to be pedantic but the word is "precedent"

I have aphantasia. The reason this experiment works is because someone with aphantasia will logically think about what they're being asked, but since they're not really "picturing" it, they won't have any answers about details. Color, type, and size of the ball? I have no idea, that information wasn't relevant to my mental checklist. For me, it really does work like a checklist. My brain supplies exactly zero imagery. For some people it's more like a spectrum, where they might be able to have a hazy picture with minimal details.

But aphantasia is 100% real. It's just hard for people to believe it because it's so foreign to the way they're used to thinking, in the same way it sounds unbelievably exhausting to me that regular people are constantly creating movies in their heads.

Except that girls clearly become adult enough to marry and have kids at whatever age gets them pregnant. It's obviously what God intended. /s

A first date was already not going well, and I said I needed to go. He decided that wasn't happening. Ended up having to run away from him, literally, through a park area while wearing heels to reach my car. It was daytime and many people saw what was happening, but no one did a thing to help. But I'm sure if it hadn't been daytime, he wouldn't have "let me" get away after catching me. There were just too many eyes on him.

I wore comfortable shoes I can run in to all first dates after that.
