That's a two hour movie condensed into one sentence.

[–] Holyhandgrenade@lemmy.world 30 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Or 22 episodes of a soap opera

[–] theedqueen@lemmy.world 17 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It’s actually kinda the premise of this old Chinese drama from like the 90s. It’s called the Plum Blossom Birthmark. This woman gives birth to a girl but decides to give her up because the show takes place in old times and she felt her position was threatened because her husband had taken on a concubine so she decides to swap out her baby girl for a boy. She brands the girl with a plum blossom mark on her back so that she can maybe find her later. Years later the little girl and boy grow up and fall in love.

Hey, cool baby, wanna trade?

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 25 points 9 months ago

The families seriously need to auction off the movie rights, they've got it made now.

[–] TheDoozer@lemmy.world 69 points 9 months ago (1 children)

That headline was a rollercoaster.

[–] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 24 points 9 months ago

No exaggeration I need nap after reading that.

[–] writeblankspace@lemm.ee 63 points 9 months ago (2 children)

dayum the mother must be having the best day of her life - finds long-lost daughter and now she has two children who got married on the same day!

[–] Moof_Kenubi@lemmy.world 67 points 9 months ago

Better yet, she only had to pay for one wedding!

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

Yeah but that was supposed to be their day.

MailOnline = We're just making shit up now

[–] gandalf_der_12te@feddit.de 1 points 9 months ago

At this point, it doesn't matter anymore.

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 39 points 9 months ago (3 children)

In a normal paper like I used to buy on the way to work, this headline would be something like "bloodties the knot" or "trouble in paradise" or something. We've strayed from the light.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 13 points 9 months ago

I'm waiting for the headlines on a story like this to devolve to the point that it's like "MILF gives her adopted son permission in public to fuck her daughter (click for pics)".

[–] dan1101@lemm.ee 5 points 9 months ago

Incest Reverse Card

[–] Tangent5280@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I like this version. No clickbait.

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 3 points 9 months ago

I respect that, but I remember a story in my local paper years ago about the burger van that was selling porn, and the headline was "burger van sells porn with relish". I want that world back.

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 39 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Now this is a man that knows how to marry his sister.

[–] CptEnder@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

[–] CoffeeJunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

A slightly humorous play on 'Roll Tide', which is what someone sarcastically comments when someone fucks their family members/incest.

....this is literally just a definition, which is what was requested, you're welcome. 🤨🙄

[–] EmperorHenry@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 9 months ago
