I think that's more fair, rather than nationalizing only one provinces exports. I'd like housing be blocked for foreign and corporate investment too, as a first step, nationalize it so it can only be owned by citizens who live here at least 6 months of the year.

This has a nice prediction on Canada 1/3 down the page, where they will use this crisis to push an energy corridor east.

Obviously a 25% tariff on steel and manufacturing in Canada is a death knell for the east, and only a 10% tariff on oil puts Alberta in a favorable position. Which pit provinces against one another, ensuring Carney would win, and would be favorable to push a pipeline for LNG. To ultimately defund Russia.

Carney is in a meeting right now and they are praising each other like crazy. Its quite absurd actually given how Trudeau was treated.

Why stop at oil, why not manufacturing, mining, lumber, banks, hydro, etc..?

What is it that makes oil special when we could nationalize everything?

How did we avoid Trump, hes the president of the USA right now, and we still have his tariffs on our exports to the US. If anything we made ourselves vulnerable by not exporting to Europe when they were begging for our energy a year or two ago. We said we are net zero, and decided we didnt need exports to maintain our social safety net, we could paper over it with ever larger amounts of debt.

Pierre seemingly had more sense when it came to our exports:

This was Carney a year ago, talking about making us net zero and strengthening ties to the US:

The problem with the Liberals is our performance since 2015, second to worst performance in the OECD on a per capita basis, and mass immigration to hide falling GDP growth while basic services go unmet. Trump may have scared people, likely in order to push an energy corridor through the east to defund Russia, but in 4 years we will be back here I think as Carney still wants to maintain an immigration rate of 420k a year; into a housing and doctor shortage, to maintain the illusion of economic growth. Prefab wont do anything, since the problem isnt the cost to build a house, its all mostly land value and taxes.

Physically standing with unions, but voting to not stand with unions every single time a union strike was broken up.

They held the balance of power for years and did nothing about it, did they not?

The NDP needs to electing a humble union rep who cares about worker rights and salaries.

Jagmeet was a lawyer wearing a rolex and driving a BMW that sit idly by while the government forced unions back to work, as he bragged about providing unfunded scraps while he debased salaries with UN defined wage slaves. Focus on worker rights and housing demand, lift all boats, stop focusing on niche groups while making everyone poorer.

People can believe Tesla is worth a huge premium but are skeptical of the price of bitcoin, as if the financial system isn't all make believe.
