On my main laptop I use KDE, it's smooth and gets the job done. On my tablet, I use GNOME. It runs well, and is touch-optimized. On my other laptop, I use gnome for no particular reason.

I bought two of these a few years ago and they are really reliable. USB 2.0 so they are slow as shit, but I still use them to install linux.

validating the integrity of the installation

The ISO file should be validated, and many installation medias check hashes.

it can be disastrous if you don't pay attention to what you type in

Valid point, even I get nervous when entering dd.

I don't think that dd alone should be used as a backup

Absolutely it shouldn't. I said primitive backups, which are not a replacement for things like snapshots. DD backups are space-inefficient, easily corruptible, and often result in broken systems.

Already switched to linux. I still have one windows drive that I haven't booted for about a year. Haven't relied on virtual machines or anything.

My favorite TV UI:

I bought a wear os watch deliberately because I thought I would enjoy modifying and customizing it like a regular android phone. In reality, I don't use it much more than for fitness tracking. I'm going to buy a garmin instinct and not change for the next 4 years.

Yeah it's a great game in every aspect...

It's answers just don't feel as good as chatgpt. Sometimes they are incorrect, and sometimes they are lackluster.

I don't understand how people can use Gemini. I have always had bad experiences with it.

DDG does have its issues like giving me random news articles from my area if it cant find anything relevant...

I miss old mrwhosetheboss who was more technically knowledgeable. He was talking about android modifications like roms that he probably would never talk about today.

This looks nice but what license does it use?

Teuteuf just added four new games!

Anyone know of some libre tactical shooters? I really can't find anything, just wanted to ask the community if they knew of anything. Closest i've found is either Unvanquished or Assaultcube. At this point of my search, I'm ready to accept that there might not be a game.

Edit: It is! I got the WiFi replaced and functional.

I need a confirmation that this is an accurate diagram, I have a A+E-key WiFi adapter, and I need to use it to replace a E-key WiFi adapter. I cannot find much information about compatibility, and need some confirmation before I stick my adapter in a type-e slot.

I've made this poll due to a debate over the definition of "base" Android. I consider it to be the AOSP, but I would like other's inputs on it. Thanks for voting!.

So... I just set my keyboard in KDE settings to Dell Latitude(i have a dell latitude) and now i can press the volume keys and they work, and pressing fn lets me press F* keys. But, my menu doesn't open. I've set it to alt+f1, alt+volume mute, and meta+a, but no luck. I am on plasma 5.24.7, using trisquel gnu/linux(triskel variant). I am using X11.

thanks for the help!
