@Rose@lemmy.zip Why the downvote? I've had nothing but nice things to say about Dustborn, I'm here helping you bring activity to your post......

Some people want too politicalize everything. They see it as a war. They see having a right side and a wrong side, and the truth is just inconvenient. It's better to persuade people than communicate truth.

The Maldives is a very small enclosed space. Whatever Island you go to, or resort you go to, there's not a lot of diversity of things to do. You're going to see everything very quickly, and most of your time is going to be " relaxing ".

If you're in the mental space to be able to look past your ex-wife and their new husband. Go. Hang out with your son, go skiing, go fishing, crab hunting, paddle ball, anything.

If, however, even seeing your ex triggers emotions in you that you can't control. That's going to be a problem in a very small enclosed space.

Why is a guy in a wheelchair being pushed into a reactor? Was this aperture science?

A recycling loop to sort the output, every splitters sorts an output, then goes to a priority output splitter to the provider chest, and any overflow goes to the next splitter... repeat until we have filtered everything, then any overflow gets recycled again.... abusing robots to move the sorted output to the rest of the base. Have 8 of these at the train depot to sort all incoming trains.

What you're talking about is shorting the market, that is dangerous to do. Unlimited liability

The recall is redundant, it should just be a notice that butter contains milk, and stickers for any leftover inventory.

Collecting it and destroying it like it's poison is silly. If your allergic to milk, you probably should not be buying butter.

Is there a way to dump to a planet any unrequested inventory? Or a way a circuit can dump from the platform.

My space bus sometimes gets over packed and it builds up

Weird problem. That just started yesterday.

  • Mullvad, VPN version 2024.5.
  • MacOS 14.7.1
  • Split tunneling. And local network sharing.

Today, if I run a ping against my gateway, I get duplicate response packets! This wasn't happening yesterday!

If I turn off split tunneling, it goes away, if I exit mullvad it goes away. Really perplexing.

I discovered this, because moonlight stopped working after 10 seconds. While I was debugging that I was doing packet captures, and eventually I saw I was getting duplicate control signals which was confusing the moonlight client.

Spent a good bit of time trying to debug my network to see where the duplicate packets were coming from, and finally narrowed it down to mullvad! Super weird

For whatever reason, the implementation of split tunneling, causes local network sharing to duplicate packets. I am just flumaxed

I have literal oceans of heavy oil, but I still need water to make rocket fuel?

There has to be a better way to make rocket fuel than melting ice....

Anyone find a clever solution?

This is a normal post, regenerate it and trash it about 1000 times for a elite post.

What should be in butter? (hackertalks.com)

I looked at my butter today, the ingredients are:

  • butter oil
  • milk powder

What the hell is butter oil? I tried googling it, but I get VERY contradictory results, nothing from a reputable source I could find.

I'm on a program right now where I'm supposed to eat 150 plus grams of protein everyday.

It's unreasonably difficult to eat enough protein to hit the target. I get full and stuffed, I don't want to eat anymore, I still have like half the protein to go.

For people who are eating their target protein levels, how do you do it? How do you keep it palatable? How do you prevent satiety from stopping you?

After about 8 hours in a multiplayer game with friends, got the first rocket up, and set up the first space-based platform.

It is much easier to build rockets now! I'm enjoying a lot of the quality of life features, we did bring in some mods which complicated things, even distribution is a little buggy, and I think led to some server crashes.

The new blueprint mechanics are excellent, I'm really glad they're there. Lots of good quality of life

Let's try a little experiment, How about a Lemmy satisfactory multiplayer server?

  • Server Connection: 173.214.160.30:8992
  • ServerName: LemmyAndFriends
  • Password: lemmy

Up to 10 concurrent players, based in California.

I'll leave it up for 10 days until Oct 25th. Let's see how it goes

This is hosted by a game hosting provider, so its not my personal network or computers.

The game is freshly started in the Dune Desert.

Introducing a vertical circular bus - A giant O of belts and lifters fully connected allowing for input / output anywhere along the bus.

Pros :

  • Modular, you can build anywhere on the vertical bus stack
  • Limits spaghetti by providing a clear and easy to access API for all players.
  • Very fast to reach all parts of the factory since everything is very concentrated into a cube of productivity.

Cons :

  • Satisfactory netcode doesn't like SUPER dense areas, so it could become problematic for multiplayer.
  • There is no priority mergers yet in Satisfactory, so if you want to prioritize a input to the bus you downgrade the belts/lifters feeding INTO the priority input, that way the belt will back up and the priority input will provide the bulk of the material.
