You sometimes to have to refresh for it to show up. It's likely due to OP federating it in :)

You can view the community's modlog you are trying to post to see if you have been banned. What community are you trying to post in?

Look, it is extremely likely that there a few things potentially going on here:

  1. Posts are not federating across your instance right now properly due to lemmy.world having issues.
  2. You may have been banned from that community you are trying to post in.
  3. There may be word triggers that have been added to lemmy.world as a safety measure due to recent attacks.
  4. Or potentially the person you are responding to blocked you, unsure how that functions fully.
  5. You may be rate limited.

Basically each community that's remotely federated has to be done so manually otherwise lemmy does not know they exist. Linking to the community on your local instance while logged in in the search screen will attempt to establish a federation connection to that community and will pull in old posts as it can (to a degree, it does not pull the entire backlog). It's strange and annoying, but solutions are currently being figured out.

I'm savoring Baldur's Gate 3, not necessarily waiting to play it per se but not wanting to binge it. I'm planning on waiting on Starfield for at least a few months.

It's the nature of federation, and unfortunately community discovery right now is an issue in lemmy that is actively being discussed. If you want to federate in a new community, search !community@instance.com in the search bar and wait for it to appear. Doing so forces your instance to federate that community over.

Speaking as Jew, this post makes me very uneasy. Equating race with intelligence has a very dark history, and the discussion of this specific topic is often littered with misinformation and outright antisemitism.
