Cut-off date for training must have been when eggs prices were jacked.

Well, that is nightmare-inducing.

The most reliable system (against natural causes, political, and financial strife, as well as future-proofing) would be local microgeneration.

This sounds like a huge boondoggle.

So... Hyundai Automotive signed a deal with Hyundai Electric to supply them with electricity.

We did the same the first couple of years and barely any kids came, even though we're a block away from an elementary school. OTOH, we're halfway up a hilly area and most of the neighbors are long time residents or retirees. No kids on the block. We just stopped trying.

There's this one street 5min away where they get a city permit and block both ends of the block so it's safe for kids to walk in the street. Most of the houses decorate and put out candies. It gets SWARMED! We started taking our own kids there.

Maybe there's a street like that near you and the kids and their parents just go there.

Saw these cool hi-viz LED harnesses on a runner once. That one had a rainbow changing pattern. Looked very cool in the dark.

Edit: The thin straps were LED and changed color too, as well as the big bulky piece on the chest and back.

Pretty cool that he reverse-engineered it and 3D printed the fixtures. Wonder if Adam Savage has any original SFX rigs.

As a Giants fan, it's been tough rooting for the Dodgers, but they played pretty solid games without making too many mistakes. Everybody talks about Ohtani, but Freeman was absolutely phenomenal. The Yankees just folded in the last game. Given their payroll and star power, it was amazing to watch them make so many mistakes and then just give up.

All-in-all, a good series. Dodgers earned themselves a non-asterixed WS win. But at times, it was hard not feeling like here were two spoiled, rich-kid bullies having a foodfight.

Obligatory: FTD.

Ask about 'Independent Study' from your faculty adviser. If you don't have one, go to your Department head. If you don't have that, ask the Registrar.

Independent Study means you get to propose your own coursework and, if approved, get to do it and get credit for it. You still have to deal with faculty supervision but the subject is specific to you. Think about what you would love to learn and propose a way to get there.

A gaggle of television camera operators and smartphone-toting residents trained their lenses on San Francisco’s newest public toilet in Noe Valley Town Square on Sunday, where a party was underway celebrating its completion after prolonged controversy.

Janell Pekkain was tempted to test out the celebrity toilet that made international news for its original $1.7 million price tag, but she demurred, daunted by the media spotlight.

“I don’t want to be filmed,” Pekkain, 61, said. ...

Voyager sure helped the transition for many of us moving off Reddit.

But one thing that has made it difficult to use is that saved items could only be retrieved in the order of original posting. That meant if you saved an item, then went back to look for it the next day, it wouldn't be there. It could be filed under the original post date which could be days, weeks, or months ago.

This was apparently a problem with the Lemmy back-end. Well, it appears that has been solved: https://lemmy.ml/comment/9233196

Hopefully, it'll roll out to servers soon and eventually make it to Voyager. Huge props to the devs!

PS: one of the last things Apollo added was 'save folders.' I didn't get to use it enough to get hooked on it, but it looked like it was a good way to keep things organized. Even better would have been tagging and smart folders, so items could be saved under multiple categories. Just leaving it here... 😁
