Mike Johnson goes to the doctor for a checkup.

Doctor says, "Mr. Speaker, you've got to stop masturbating."

Johnson says, "Why?"

Doctor says, "So I can examine you."

Is there anything not weird about this guy?

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 33 points 10 months ago (1 children)

What's weird about notifying your kid when you beat off?

Preventing this is the future liberals want.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 56 points 10 months ago (2 children)

If my parent asked me to monitor their porn intake I’d tell them to talk to a clinical sexologist because what the actual fuck‽ And if they asked about mine I’d honestly be concerned that there’s something incestous there.

Like I’m super pro sex ed and parent-child communication on such things. But there are things that you’d like to keep private from that relationship unless it’s important. I’m so grateful I don’t know anything about my parents’ masturbation habits

[–] EddyNottingham@lemmy.ml 23 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Thank you for using the "interrobang" you classy human ❤️

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Is that one of Mike Johnson’s favorite porn categories?

[–] relevants@feddit.de 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I set up my phone to auto-correct "?!" to the interrobang. That makes it so much easier to remember it's there!

Yeah, the concept isn't that much different than going to AA meetings, but having your minor son be your accountability partner is pretty weird.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Having your kid be your AA sponsor also sounds pretty dang irresponsible in most cases. But also compulsive porn consumption is something that’s less to be solved with “even more Christian AA” than it is with a clinical sexologist because there’s usually quite a bit going on there and many times it’s more related to being ashamed of having healthy sexual desires than it it is an addiction. But also it’s having your kid monitor your porn consumption. Not a friend. Not your spouse. Your child.

[–] PeleSpirit@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

That's assuming that one or both have an addiction.

[–] Wenchette@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

And.... parenting???

[–] badbytes@lemmy.world 19 points 10 months ago

That is so psychopathic. The GOP are a bunch of sick mofos.

[–] frickineh@lemmy.world 18 points 10 months ago

Knew before I read the article that it was gonna be Covenant Eyes. Aka the same software "monitoring" Josh Duggar, that he got around with a partition. Super effective stuff. I'm guessing about 90% of fundie men that use it also have partitions, because you don't pay for software to monitor your every move unless you know you're not able/willing to control yourself.

[–] PetDinosaurs@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

Huh? That's so ridiculous it can't possibly be true.

Can we get another source?

Edit: yeah. This is also reported by plenty of other sources.

[–] dantheclamman@lemmy.world 22 points 10 months ago

If you read the article, they link to a tweet where he discusses it at length on video.

[–] remotelove@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 months ago (5 children)

You probably already know this, but you need to keep a lookout for where the articles are actually sourced from. Just because multiple sources are reporting on something could simply mean they are affiliated outlets publishing the same story from the same original author.

This saves time for affiliate outlets, but it's a practice that is vulnerable to the rapid spread of misreporting or intentional misinformation.

The real problem is people that should be our leaders don't want anything to do with all the bullshit involved with politics. So we end up with weirdos and crazies instead.

[–] fosiacat@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago (1 children)

imagine knowing how often and to what your dad jerks off to

He looks a bitmoji of a possessed marionette.

[–] winterayars@sh.itjust.works 6 points 10 months ago (4 children)

On the one hand that's weird.

On the other hand, for a Republican these days maybe not that weird.

Call me when the inevitable mutual masturbation video surfaces.

[–] TheBananaKing@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I mean, there's endless trolling material there.

[–] Szymon@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

Revealed: Mike Johnson watches more porn than the rest of the politicians combined, and apparently it's a father-son activity.

[–] Jimmycrackcrack@lemmy.ml 3 points 10 months ago

Hahaha this is so fucking weird. I can't say I'd care much exactly but just... What!?

[–] autotldr@lemmings.world 3 points 10 months ago

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson admitted that he and his son monitored each other’s porn intake in a resurfaced clip from 2022.

During a conversation on the “War on Technology” at Benton, Louisiana’s Cypress Baptist Church — unearthed by X user Receipt Maven last week — the Louisiana representative talked about how he installed “accountability software” called Covenant Eyes on his devices in order to abstain from internet porn and other unsavory websites.

Outside of the creepy Big Brother-ness of it all, Receipt Maven also aired concerns about whether Covenant Eyes — which is still a working subscription-based service — might “compromise” Johnson’s devices, if he’s still actively seeking accountability.

“A US Congressman is allowing a 3rd Party tech company to scan ALL of his electronic devices daily and then uploading reports to his son about what he’s watching or not watching….,” Receipt Maven wrote.

Since he was elected Speaker of the House in October, Johnson’s history as a faith-obsessed, election-denying, far-right Christian nationalist has come under the microscope, from his time with the anti-LBGTQ organization Alliance Defending Freedom to his claim that school shootings could be blamed on abortion and teaching evolution.

In an interview Sunday morning on Fox News, Johnson was asked about his history on abortion, including claims that he was opposed to contraception and IVF treatment.

The original article contains 373 words, the summary contains 221 words. Saved 41%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
