Mine is hands down - KiwiFarms.

They have gained a reputation as, rightfully, a hate forum. A forum where its userbase has not and will not grow out of their edgy teenager phase, thinking Hitler/Stalin is awesome and have 'humorous' spins on controversial issues.

They are responsible for being linked to a handful of suicides. Even services like Cloudflare have dropped them from protection.

Reddit is only bad because it is horribly mismanaged (simply because Spez doesn't care and loves to profit off of his chaos). But KiwiFarms is bad because they are a unified bunch of hate-filled people with the sole goal of spreading hell and misery on people they don't like if you so much gaze in their direction.

They pride themselves in free speech in that, they will use racial slurs and slang. Any word of course not allowed to be said on the surface web and even the fediverse, they're going to use. That's probably the only thing I even remotely agree with them on, is that censorship on the internet has grown very overboard and it is relieving to use some words unpunished whereas you're moderated and/or banned in moments for using some words.

I just don't approve of the spamming of racial slang/slurs though.

But man, talk about a bunch of riled up angry teenagers who've gotta take their anger and mischief out on the world simply because they never amounted to anything in life.

Used to be voat before it went down.

When The_Donald got banned or muted or whatever many red hats tried to join voat, but they found it to toxic for their tastes.

I try to stay away from .world The userbase wants it to be a copy of modern day reddit

[–] fittedsyllabi@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Sorry, but it’s Reddit. It really is. And X.

Full of HR and "ass kissers" glorifying the work class exploitation as a "way of life". Pure sewage.

Destiny.gg that guy has the most vile racist community I have ever seen.

[–] imnapr@discuss.tchncs.de 37 points 3 days ago

Obvious one? Twitter. Youtube comments are pretty awful, and a secret third one, steam community comments. LORD they are so awful. Full of bots/people who just have awful takes or argue over the most benign shit

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

Pretty much any Steam game's forum is full of nasty toxic fans.

It's hard to beat KiwiFarms tbh. Like, you basically have to name a CSAM channel or something. They're fucked up.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Yeah maybe 8chan? Or those neonazi telegram groups that exist to incite terrorism

[–] Commiunism@beehaw.org 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not as bad but still quite terrible are probably the steam forums. There are some systems in there that literally encourage and reward saying the most stupid/offensive shit, and with a very lax moderation it's just a complete mess.

[–] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Can a game's dev mod the forum? because deltarune's one is pretty ok in my experience.

[–] Commiunism@beehaw.org 3 points 1 day ago

Yeah, pretty sure its the devs of the game that are ultimately responsible for moderating their game forum, making internal employees or trusted players mods and so on. The main issue comes from communities that aren't being moderated, or from the general steam forums.

Discord.

Doesn't matter whose. They're all shit. They're not a substitute for forums for support yet everyone uses them as that. They breed power-tripping children (and man-children) who think they're super special because they mod some server. They're made for churning out drama. They aren't searchable from search engines. I mean they were made for GAMERS and then spread out to the rest of the toxic internet.

I do get your sentiment but discord has its place. It's nice for quick messaging. Forums are for well thought out discussions. Discord is where you would shitpost, have offtopic channels, link weird videos and memes in a quick and fast way.

[–] argarath@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I agree with your points but I disagree with your belief that all of them are shit. I'm in some to follow some small youtuber because I keep not getting notified of their be uploads (I've been following Etho's Lab for over a decade and watched every single upload of his as soon as possible since then but youtube still doesn't show me his videos), an artist server to catch their latest drawings and go hang out with other people who like his art and nargacuga in general as well as some friend servers to play games and share memes. I literally just got out of a call I was for about 4 to 5 hours with my friend as I played one game and they played another until enough people got together to continue playing R.E.P.O.

Discord has its horrible servers, but you can def find some good places to hang out, you just have to avoid the absolutely gigantic ones with hundreds of people, but even then you can get good ones. Etho's fan server is big but I've always had a great time there. The labrats one is another that I've had a great time sharing my horrible lab stories with and gotten good tips back. Discord is not too different from other social networks, if you don't curate it right, you will get a lot of shit, but if you manage to get it right it can be great

pr0gramm.com, German incel IT/gamer guy site

[–] janonymous@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't know if I would call it an incel site. Isn't it just generally "edgy" humor with an IT/nerd slant? Meaning they straddle the line between dog whistle racism and mysogeny and going full mask off.

That reminds me: 9gag

What's the difference to an incel site? :D

Only one I can think of that's not on government terror registries is Rumble. Dunno if it's just livestreaming or general video hosting, but it's mostly klansmen, nazis, and anyone banned from twitch for being creeps

[–] PTSDwarrior@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago

JD moon face is a major investor in Rumble.

[–] whimsy@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

I don't know it's the worst, but the phoronix (a Linux news site) forums is an absolute mind numbing concoction of shite. The people there seemingly get activated over some keywords and begin puking in the comment section with no moderation

[–] BlueSquid0741@lemmy.sdf.org 11 points 3 days ago

I clicked here to say Kiwi farms too.

[–] Sunsofold@lemmings.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The internet. We'd probably all be bettered off if we avoided it.

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 2 points 15 hours ago

I've been to IRL, its even worse.

Maybe I’m weird, but I don’t avoid any of them, I just take them for what they are, and some are total shit. That said, sometimes you’re looking for shit, so it makes sense to go to the shit farm.

You know what, scratch that, I avoid whitehouse.gov and foxnews.com.

[–] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nobody gonna say 4chan? I'll say 4chan.

[–] infyrian@kbin.melroy.org 6 points 2 days ago

I think they've really infiltrated a lot of communities just to simply fuck them up. Reddit seriously long got hijacked by them years ago. KiwiFarms is probably where the worst of them are and then there's their home base. They're all miserable people who will just attack you for nothing and even attack themselves, it's so tribal.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 2 days ago

Oh 4chan, no question.

[–] Focal@pawb.social 1 points 2 days ago

I'm gonna say FunnyJunk. It's mostly right wing memes and downvotes if you say anything close to "I don't think this Trump gut has it all figured out"
