It's amazing how shit the Merc is when it's hot.
Karun Chandhok on sky commentary just said Red Bull hasn't had a second driver pushing for results since Riccardo. How do people forget how good Perez actually was. It's clear that Max is just on another level, but Perez worked some miracles to be as close as he was (at times)
I find it easy to forget Perez's highs, as they get overshadowed by the long, downwards spiral he was on at the end. In contrast, Ricciardo left while being closer to an equal to Max. That's the image my memory is painting, anyway.
Disaster day for Red Bull at their home race. Tsunoda in last place with a 10s penalty and Verstappen DNF means no points today.

We need a double DNF for McLaren soin, to help keep the championship fight interesting.
well this mclaren race is interesting and yeah it smells like DNF.
+5sec with Ferrari. at least they created the gap with the rest.

Could be in for some interesting strategies this race, one-stop should be very very hard on this tarmac and in this heat, but several teams either are locked into it or will have to use the softs. And the softs don't look good here.
Hopefully the pace of Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull is good or else this could be a snoozer with Norris just driving into the sunset.
I am prepared to treat p3 as p1 for the purposes of today. Stupidly swapped Ferrari out for Mercedes in my fantasy this week...
We need some solution for lapping cars. Borteleto would have got ~~also~~ alonso if not for the blue flags
