No. But I bought a pan (to make authentic tamagoyaki) and am waiting for it to arrive :)

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 4 points 1 day ago

yea, I'm hoping to find something that really ties the room together, you know

[–] traches@sh.itjust.works 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I’m “everything is too loud” old

[–] N0t_5ure@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I'm "happy I only have to get out of bed to pee once per night" old.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 11 points 2 days ago (3 children)

You have no idea. Not only did I buy a new rug, i bought the same rug in different sizes so i could piece them together into one giant rug. It was glorious.

I'm still proud of it. No one i know cares when i tell them.

It just looked like a wall to wall shag carpet. You couldn't see the seams for a couple of years.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

I care and I think it’s neat! Show pictures!

[–] KittenBiscuits@lemm.ee 4 points 2 days ago

I have a crazy long hallway and found it so hard to get a runner that I love and is long enough. I ended up going with 2. But I wish I had thought of piecing them together and had bought a third one to do so. 2 isn't enough with the way the pattern repeats, and they don't quite cover the entire hallway.

So I care. I'm quite impressed that you made your mega-rug a reality!

At the price of current day rugs, you better be excited buying it, because God knows your bank account ain't gonna be.

I'm still at appliance level excited though, But I've never been excited about decorations, so chances are, I'll never hit that stage.

[–] underreacting 3 points 2 days ago

You can absolutely get excited about a soft luxurious rug curling between your toes and keeping you warm and silent on a cold nights excursion to the bathroom, compared to the wide-awakening shock of a cold floor or even an uninviting prickly gross old rug. Decoration is a bonus.

I'm excited-to-weave-my-own-rug-old.

Luckily it pairs well with being excited-to-weave-my-own-rug-poor.

I have been saving all my leftover yarn for years until I feel like I have enough to crochet a rug with 3 or 4 strands held together. I also am saving worn out fabric like sheets and tshirts to make an eventual rag rug. I just realized over the weekend that one of these types of rugs would work very well in my camper, and I wouldn't need a large one. I have enough scraps saved that I could make it finally!

[–] underreacting 2 points 2 days ago

Awesome! Are you using old yarn for the warp thread (I always figured warp had to be sturdier than regular yarn), or is it two different projects?

Are you going for some type of motif, colour gradients or pure chaos?

Does it tie the room together?

[–] chronicledmonocle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

More like I'm "that's a good deal on a new rug cleaner" old.

[–] flamingo_pinyata@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

No that's the next level. I'm excited-to-buy-a-new-kitchen-appliance old.

[–] spittingimage@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I'm currently debating whether I need a whisk.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 3 points 2 days ago

I'm old, but I'm not "financially stable enough to buy a whole-ass rug" old.

[–] Hideakikarate@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 days ago

Friend, I was excited that our house came with a central vacuum.

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Yes but for a good reason; we're waiting until the youngest kid is less sloppy. Old rug we had needed to be removed because of how gross it got after years of first born mess making, so we learned our lesson and are waiting. The anticipation actually makes me look forward to having a rug again.

You may ask yourself, why do rugs matter? Living room is weirdly shaped so it helps define the space and keeps furniture from sliding around. It helps maintain proper distance of couch to speakers and TV distance. Those who are not excited about a rug simply haven't had to frequently push their couch back into place after it inevitably slides back every time someone gets out of it.

[–] FeelzGoodMan420@eviltoast.org 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

No, however I get very excited about new socks.

[–] Rossi199@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I'm considering buying some new socks. I might go crazy and get some new undergonch, too.

[–] KittenBiscuits@lemm.ee 2 points 2 days ago

I can not wait to be old enough for senior discount days at grocery stores, IHOP, state & national parks. I think that falls somewhere between excited-to-buy-a-rug old and test-driving-walkers old.

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

No. But I do get excited about frying pans and cheese graters.

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

At the current price of rugs?? That's too frivolous.

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Rag rugs are a game changer

*some rag rugs.

*Happy cake day!

No, that shit's expensive

[–] dwindling7373@feddit.it 1 points 2 days ago

No, I'm excited about games, sex and unhealthy food.
