Why would someone make this using AI when a still from the actual movie would have worked just fine?

[–] dgdft@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It’s a useful way to dodge automated copyright flagging systems if you’re trying to churn out meme page content and crosspost it on many platforms.

[–] dragonfucker@lemmy.nz 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So you're saying AI image generation is encouraged by the copyright system?

I was wondering why it looked off. The skin has this "plastic wrap" sheen to it that every AI-generated human seems to have, and the raptor looks like a giant plastic toy.

80s kid here: it's not that bad and mostly what you decide to make out of it. still playing magic the gathering, minecraft and irl boardgames :)

80s kids play Minecraft? I was almost 30 when that was released and definitely missed that boat

[–] SidewaysHighways@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

the boat is still here. get on it?

or luanti

[–] protist@mander.xyz 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My 7 year old loves Minecraft and I've been learning about it, but could never see myself choosing to play it independently

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Lookup all the stuff you can do with Redstone. You can teach computer science inside Minecraft.

I started playing it late 20s. It really is a game anyone can enjoy. Particularly the Java version with modpacks (some of these modpacks are probably actually unplayable by children because of how complicated and technical they are).

As an 80s kid, hitting 40 was the best thing that ever happened to me. Shit that used to matter suddenly doesn't, like you flipped a lightswitch. You get new superpowers, and they're all bitchy. I recommend it to everyone.

[–] oppy1984@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Seriously, I'm 41 and over the last year I've slowed slipped into fuck it mode. Don't get me wrong, I still have plenty of things I care about, but so many little things I've just stopped caring about and my life is so much more relaxed because of it. It's amazing what hitting 40 can do to your mindset.

As someone who died at 28, spent six months in ICU fighting my way, I’m SO excited for 40! Growing old is a privilege, not everyone gets to

[–] PolydoreSmith@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Born in 1989. Whenever an older person says, “never get old!” I always say, “it’s better than the alternative!”

Well la dee da lease on life, some of us have joint problems and it's going to get worse

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

Did an AI try to recreate this image?

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

I think you're right. Aside from screenshots showing it looks wrong, here's the actual scene: https://youtu.be/yZszK_M_9_Y

It's not there, unless I'm missing it.

a kid born in the 90s or someone who was a kid in the 90s (born in the 80s)

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 35 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I've always considered it the latter.

[–] CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de 21 points 1 month ago

Same. It's about 90s culture, isn't it? I was born in the early 90s, I didn't consciously experience a lot of 90s things. My formative years were the 00s, therefore I'm not a 90s kid.

I thought it was about having almost 100 baby goats

I was a kid and an adult in the 90s, this is so confusing 😅

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Kid in the 1890's, adult in the 1990's? 🤔

Turned 40 last month and to be honest I'm kinda struggling with depression right now

[–] EstonianGuy@lemm.ee 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Time for a mid life crisis then

[–] Elkot@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Wish I could afford a midlife crisis

Now would probably be a good time to start stretching before bed and warming up in the morning.

Exercise, cut the sugar, drink water, sleep, orgasm.

The dreaded event happens in 8 days for me.... Its so close, I can hear it around the corner.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Fuck you OP. I still have 2.5 years. Don't remind me

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

But the kid gets away but we won't get away from time.

[–] vegantomato@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (8 children)

We all age and die. What matters is what we do with our lives.

[–] CrowAirbrush@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I typed up a complete rant about how i wasted away so much time to work, trying to obtain an income that's capable of getting me a house.

But now is the time to focus on what IS positive at the moment, like how i'm still happily together with the wife.

If i let the negavtives of the past take control, i'll just stumble down a deep hole again and i don't want that.

It's been going down hill since I turned 25. I'm just closer to the end of the ride now.
