I will condemn every single Parent who allows their kids to use this shit.

Couple this with the (at least here in America) dismantling of public education and revisionist history, and our world’s future has never looked brighter; as in staring into the blast of a nuclear explosion brighter.

30 years from now Elmo is gonna be explaining nuclear war in puppet form to children in caves.

[–] TIN@feddit.uk 4 points 2 weeks ago

AI enabled Elmo? Helping your cave dwelling children develop their creativity?

[–] KelvarIW@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 weeks ago

Unless something changes, 10 years from now we'll be hunkered down for Winter recounting the horrors with the Elmo puppet.

(Old timey PSA voice)

"Oh no, what was that loud and terrible noise that shook your entire house, school, or workplace? You've likely just heard The Future! First things first, Billy, do not look directly into The Future.

  • Remember to duck and cover!
  • Be careful not to breathe the ensuing debris cloud from The Future. It is highly hazardous to your health!
  • The Future may have just destroyed everything you knew about the world before it arrived. Do not expect organized emergency services to help."

That's right, duck and cover

Funnily enough asking the new whatsapp beta AI integration how to disable it does not get a response

[–] SeekPie@lemm.ee 30 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

When I tried it in WhatsApp, it told me to go to a settings page that doesn't exist and when I corrected it, it said that the page does exist and that I should check again.

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 7 points 2 weeks ago

Well duh, you've disabled it (for the session).

[–] RidderSport@feddit.org 4 points 2 weeks ago

It redirected me to support saying they could deactivate it - they can't is what support said.

Once again fuck AI

[–] whaleross@lemmy.world 28 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Anything you put in meta ai will be used in marketing against you.

[–] toadjones79@lemm.ee 5 points 2 weeks ago

So asking it to fuck off is the best we can hope for.

Anything you put into your search box in Windows will be used in marketing against you.

It happened to me today. "We want your feedback on Outlook predictive text!". Well, it couldn't predict that I wanted it to fuck off, could it?

[–] zqwzzle@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 weeks ago

Torn between hating that they shove AI in everything and completely abusing it because of the high electrical/water cost to cost them more money.

[–] Meron35@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Shut up friends. My internet browser heard us saying the word Fry and it found a movie about Philip J. Fry for us. It also opened my calendar to Friday and ordered me some french fries.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I use it as a stress release, when I'm having a bad day I'll just jump into it and hurl massive amounts of abuse at it, they won't block you from it because they need you to use it, so use it, but use it to be the receiver of all the anger you need to release.

Make them regret forcing this shit on us.
