I have noticed that a number of films we had decided we'd want to see in the theatre were no longer showing by the time we tried to plan the trip. They really are losing out.

They’re losing out because the studios own the streaming channels, not the theaters. They make more profit by sending the movie out of the theater and onto their channels as soon as possible.

That's what I never understand. They people are already subscribed to the streaming service. Why not squeeze the extra money through theatres as long as possible?
