Wtf is “newsfromthestates.com”?

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Tell that to all the “bro influencers” who went all in for Trump this year. I’d argue it’s time for liberals to start astroturfing.

It’s “off my chest”. Let them vent. They’ve earned it.

Everyone keeps saying “it’s the economy” but there sure were a bunch of people out shopping today when I looked. Maybe it was just racism and misogyny combined with people mistakenly believing that Trump will lower their taxes.

Both can be true.

Google’s Chrome OS might be a decent choice for a giveaway laptop (even though Google is shitty with privacy, the apps are familiar).

Or Ubuntu with Firefox and Steam, maybe Good Old Games installed. Do you really need antivirus on consumer Linux installs like Ubuntu?

It took me a few moments to decipher what you posted. I’m guessing what you are asking is:

Are gay men who have casual sex without condoms prepared to lose their free drug-based HIV prevention meds (PreP)? Because the Trump administration is probably going to strip all public health funding for stuff like this.

I do wonder if insured folks will still have coverage for these meds. They reduce health care costs in the long run, but I don’t know how heavily subsidized insured patients are compared to the uninsured. Same dilemma for post-HIV meds (and that’s not just a gay male problem).

I dunno how many gays voted for Trump. DL, “masc” or otherwise.

They will need to show plagiarism in the results returned by AI. I bet that won’t be too difficult.

Lightning was designed to put the stress on the cable instead of the port. A lot cheaper to replace a busted cable than getting your device repaired.

Also called churning.

What we do in the shadows isn’t an HBO property. Most of the other shows you listed were made years ago.

Not a game changer at all. In fact most of my peripherals still use the older style usb connectors. I’m not planning to run out and buy new everything.

I would like to see appliance chargers switch to USB-C. All these stupid wall warts for electric toothbrushes and shavers are ridiculous.

This is just greenwashing the original plan to add another natural gas power plant. What a scam. “Oh it could eventually run on hydrogen too. In five years. Maybe?”

This project is such a waste of money.

Are there any good iOS apps for rating songs while they play in Plex on the TV? I can’t find a way to rate songs using an AppleTV and its remote.

I did try the Plex app on the phone, but you have to leave it as the frontmost app or it will disconnect by the next time you open it (app flushes/sleeps). If it doesn’t disconnect then instead you get a mismatch of what’s playing and what can be rated (album art/track name/rating pane don’t match). There’s also no widgets from the app to do this from on iOS.

Or is there a web app I can run on the server and connect to from the phone’s web browser to rate items as they play?

Finally got around to watching “Falcon and The Winter Soldier” and it would have been so much better if Isaiah Bradley’s story had been the first episode, or a stand-alone movie. Instead it’s just told in exposition. If you go read his backstory, it is a pillar of the F&WS plot. Disappointing that an interesting chapter of this universe is confusingly meted out in bits and pieces across episodes. Here’s hoping his “prequel” eventually gets told.

As an aside — am I really supposed to believe Falcon doesn’t get paid the big bucks and can’t afford to pay to fix up his sister’s boat?

Or shade.

I am also reminded of how CapMetro spent money to rip out the perfectly fine existing shelters and benches to replace them with the newer, flimsier ones.
