Microwaving food. Too many people think that it's radiating the food. Its just making the water molecules in the food wiggle and heat up to warm the food through internal collisions.

It's even the optimal way to cook some things, and people still avoid it.
Babylon 5, that show was brilliant and I don't get why it gets the hate it does, if you love space courtroom drama and intergalactic diplomatic shenanigans, then Babylon 5 has you more than covered.
You want a deep multi level story? Yep got that.
Space racisim? Got that as well.
A will they won't they love hate relationship between to opposing alien species who may or may not have killed a substantial amount of each others species? hell yeah we got that in bulk!
That show is worth the watch. If they had just the slightest bit of extra money to get better cgi, we would be talking about Babylon 5 different.
I was surprised when I learned that Pikmin 3 is often disliked or even hated. It's shamelessly my fave game of the series. I get that the story is shorter than it should be and it's more linear but it has this charm that's unmatched, and I enjoy the graphics style so much that it inspired several facets of my artstyle even. Also the mission mode is just the right difficulty and a ton of fun!
The first 60 minutes was GOD AWFUL. So much hand holding and text conversations that it turned me off to the game completely.

Imo they aren't getting nearly enough of hate they deserve. I'm not against figure collecting in general but FP are the ugliest motherfucking thing i ever seen in this department, for the same amount of resources, labour and energy they could produce something much better. In fact, a consistent long serie of figures faithful to the original (not ultra-deformed) across so many franchises would been great, but alas only thing there is are those unholy abominations.
I also take issue with buying something that does nothing. βOh Iβm going to put this on that shelf and never touch it againβ. It screams cash grab. Theyβre made of brittle plastic so you canβt play with them. And as you say, theyβre ugly.
You must hate furniture then. Because, I'd want my bookshelves, nightstands and even my bed to do SOMETHING.
I would argue that collecting things having purely aesthetical value is also legit, though there is an issue about manufactured demand and role of merchandise in popculture, but fair enough.
I see benefits of displaying art made by a person, but I take issue with collecting. It feels like a form of hoarding.
It definitely can be, for example art is very often hoarded as form of investment, and this can be a much lower-price form of the same, but not necessarily. I would say the more those things price is, the more chance for hoarding.
That is, economically. If you mean hoarding as in psychology probably it's more depending on person, a lot of people i know including me were collecting more or less useless things but nobody i know went into true hoarding problem and most of those people at some point got bored and got rid of their collections. Other than above personal experience, idk.

High Guardian Spice. I'm not personally an enjoyer of it, but the amount of criticism it received was vastly, vastly out of proportion simply because it was "woke".
And as Ada said, trans people.
Windows Phone, particularly Windows Phone 8.1. It had its flaws, the biggest being the lack of third-party support of course but the UX was the best I've ever experienced on a mobile device.
The UI was very different from Android/iOS but felt more consistent and intuitive. The Live Tiles especially were just such a good feature to get as much information as possible on one screen. And it all looked so incredibly good for the time with its silky smooth animations.
It's a shame Microsoft ruined it all with Windows Phone 10...
Also the keyboard! I have never used one I liked more until thumbkey came along :) The windows keyboard was so good for swipe typing, it makes me wonder how they now own swift key and it isn't as good!
When I had to go to Android (phone battery on the Lumia 950xl started swelling), I used things to replicate Windows Phone as it was so fun to use. :)
Trans people
Yeah. I feel like they get so much hate because they are the closest symbol for "maybe things aren't as clear cut as you thought", and it freaks people out.
The reason they're being hated is entirely for religious reasons. Just like any other individual from the LGBTQ umbrella are scorned similarly.
But I have to play devil's advocate now that I'm thinking of it, but one thing I don't like about trans people, isn't just who they are. It's the spotlight is primarily on them, by a community that had once stressed about caring about all individuals of all backgrounds. Yet, Trans people got all the attention almost and what that has caused is levels of infighting and people giving cold shoulders. They're from people who're gay or bisexual (which these days, bisexual people feel shunned the most).
That's not what should happen but unfortunately, it is and I don't like that people just suddenly decide who gets more priority over others. That's not equality.

Edit: it's... sadly very easy to forget that you don't deserve the hate, which is why I didn't put this in my post. It's something I've been trying to work through lately.

Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
Both had awful parents and public struggles with addiction, but people just like looking down on βparty girlsβ
TBF I think Hilton was deliberate to some extent. She rode the wave of controversy she created and made a name for herself separate from the family name. Sheβs still controversial, but sheβs independent.
Lohan was just an addict in a downward spiral chased by harsh public opinion. Unfortunately the public loves to see a star fall.
Waterworld is a fantastic movie. Creative world-building, unbelievable sets, stunts and performances (Dennis Hoper as an over the top villain? Yes please) I just can't understand all of the hate it received!
I found it quite preachy, but still watchable if you don't think about it too hard.
"Oil = bad". "Smokers = bad". Hopper aside, the bad guys were as shallow as you can get in character development.
Plus at 2h15m it was about 45 minutes longer than it should have been, and Kevin Costner is a polarising actor for some due to his lack of charisma.
All that said, I watched it twice. Once partly to admire Jeanne Tripplehorn's dress, which should have got a best supporting role.
Where did they get the cigarettes? Were they 20 year old stale cigarettes?
Best complaint I heard was "it's just mad max on water" .

Nickelback. Hate started as a joke but became real. Not like they're groundbreaking, but they don't deserve the amount of actual hate they got.
Also Korn's dubstep album. Not every song was a hit, but there were quite a few bangers on that track list. Get Up got me into dubstep and still goes hard.
They have 2 or 3 songs that I consider to be fantastic, but a lot of generic stuff. Photograph is their worst song and was so overplayed when it came out.
The worst that Nickelback is, is that they're just vanilla and bland. But they're also a band that has at least maybe a single or two songs that you might like. I really dig the Feed the Machine track from them and a few others.
Korn's dubstep album was...interestingly bad.
That's another thing that's unfair! Vanilla being synonymous with plain is nonsense. Vanilla is a flavor, and it's delicious.

Crocs. I got my first pair when I was a teenager and they still work now (edit: 30yrs old); though I recently got a new pair because the bottoms were completely smooth on the old pair.
"Ugly" cars. Aka Pontiac Aztec, PT Cruiser, Fiat Multipla, etc. Yeah, they might be ugly as sin, but they're more interesting from a visual standpoint. I'd rather have the road filled with ugly cars than filled with cars that mostly look the same.
Crocs were hated? When?
For me they just popped out of nowhere and everyone started wearing them all of a sudden which I found it weird. I am yet to own crocs myself. Not that I hate them, nor I am trying to avoid them, I just found them as weird.
PT Cruisers would be fine if they were just ugly. Those things were notoriously unreliable.
Are they, though? They're just Dodge Neons under the hood. And there were a ton of pt cruisers. I still see them now, 20 something years later. People seemed to take care of them and pass them onto their kids as they got older.

Many got over the hate and now appreciate them. They are also common addons for overnight hiking/bikepacking trips for when you set up camp and your feet are tired.

Teen Titans Go.
I think most of the hate came from the people who grew up with the 2003 show, which ended abruptly, leading them to believe that TTG was meant to be a replacement.
Most of the hate has died down now, but I still think all that contempt was unwarranted.
Yep, all 3 of my kids loved TTG. I understand where people are coming from but the show has some genuinely funny moments
The live action Cowboy Bebop
After Dragonball Evolution, I can no longer be convinced that live-action anime adaptations will ever work.
Go full blown animated or don't even try.
