Finally watched Ginger Snaps 2, I really liked it and with that I have watched all the Ginger Snaps movies

I watched Alien Romulus last night. It was pretty meh. I appreciated some of the other movies in the universe that covered new ground, but Romulus was basically

Tap for spoiler"trapped in a spaceship with aliens," which been pretty well covered by the series so far.

Agreed, it was just fine. I found the fan service callbacks to the previous movies pretty distracting and unnecessary.

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I really enjoyed it but fuck me the callbacks really took away from it. Like it's a decent movie, just stand on your own. We've all seen Aliens.

I just watched the Stutterer short film, really well written and directed, it made me shed a small tear at the end πŸ₯²

Do you mind me asking where you saw that? I've a heap of shorts in my watchlist but can never find any of them anywhere.

Ahem, you know, on the high seas πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ

Up in smoke: "classic" style weed movie

VHS beyond: I like the V/H/S movies style and watch every one of them, since they are anthologies there's always at least a couple of good episodes

Deadpool & Wolverine: it's ok

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, not as good as the first one, but not as bad either.

A worthy sequel...

El Hoyo 1 and 2. Not sure of the English name, The Platform?

Watched the first a few years back and quite liked it, went back and watched the first again for a refresh and then the second the next day. Quite enjoyed it although the second left more questions again xD

Also watched Inside Out 1 and 2. They were alright I guess, some humorous moments. The first was definitely stronger than the second.

Watched Barbarian after having it in my list for a while. It was VERY annoying seeing the main character make one bad decision after another. But somehow it was still a really good movie.

We got a new TV last week so we had to test it out with:

A New Hope

Dune (pt 1 & 2)

Rocky Horror Picture Show

Thanks! We'll probably put on more spoopy stuff in the coming days. I'd love to see Alien: Romulus, but I'm not paying $20 to rent it. I've tried to torrent things, but either I'm doing something wrong, or the vpn I use is useless because my isp always sees what I'm downloading. Like, the c&d emails they send cite exactly what I download every time no matter what I do, so I've given up.

Coraline with my daughter. Killing them softly by myself. I had seen it before but the details had been lost to time. Pretty decent flick.
