I'm gonna need more than somebody's social media post on this.
Edit: Because right now it's "somebody's" social media post with an unsourced and undated quote from "someone" referring to "reporting," with a picture of a lady that has a PBS/NewsHour watermark. This is exactly the kind of thing you should be skeptical of in the absence of better confirmation, all up and down that ladder of vagueness.
You right, ill change my title.
Edit: Here's the original discussion w/ timestamp. I want to say, I've been avoiding xwitter for so long I really hate linking it right now.

Here's a couple links if anyone wants to venture down this rabbit hole

Possible replacement for that twitter link, here's an article discussing Woodruff's comments - https://web.archive.org/web/20240820213405/https://newrepublic.com/post/185076/donald-trump-scheme-beat-kamala-harris-benjamin-netanyahu-ceasefire
I would delete it but it's too relevant to the meme. Alternative link to the dnc footage would be nice, tho.
The rueters one doesn't indicate anything about Trump talking to Bibi and discouraging him from setting up a peace deal.
To me it's still relevant because it establishes that trump has an open line of communication to bibi and he is directly expressing to him his thoughts about the Genocide in Gaza.
Wish there was more reporting around this.
Yeah. The hostage situation is “very tough”. They’re not gonna ‘fix’ that for him its just right out there like that’s how leaders talk. As if. And, agreed, he couldn’t lead a Mongol horde out of a wet paper bag.
I don’t see fox news reporting on Trump breaching the Logan act. They also know that Netanyahu will stop the attacks the second trump is elected to help him politically. It’s gross.
Non of those links confirm the tweet. Honestly this smells like fake news, as OP, has pointed out.
Agreed. The "lady" is Judy Woodruff, PBS anchor and correspondent since it was the MacNeill-Lehrer News Hour, so it would greatly surprise me if she didn't have some credible evidence behind "the reporting is".
But I missed that moment last night, so I'd want to be sure she said it.
She did, see link above.
Here's a link to an article about this further down my front page
Complete tangent but how did you edit your comment without causing an edit mark to appear on it?
I edited it within a very short time after posting it. There's some kind of "grace period" (at least on fedia.io), but I don't know exactly what it is.
Reddit had a 2-3 min window to edit without it being marked as such; I haven’t noticed that on lemmy.world (dunno if it matters instance to instance).
Any edits on SJW are instantly marked
Edit 10 sec
I didn't know Social Justice Warriors had an instance on Lemmy.
Oh... it's just shit again. Haha.
😂You really think Judy Woodruff is gonna put her reputation on the line by spreading BS? Good lord...
Edit: Oof, turns out she apologized and got the story wrong.
I don't see any indication that she's related to this. Anyone can put a picture of anyone near some text, and claim that they are quoting that person.
Google it. It's on her Twitter account. She said it but she recently apologized and said she got it wrong.
I could, but that's not the point. The point is that someone posted a picture of some text, without any sources. And that when someone asks for a shred of proof, some people don't get why. This is very important.
And this is what I'm trying to tell you, and anyone else reading. A picture of text is not reliable, and it does not help that there's also a picture of someone you trust. The guy asking for proof is the sensible voice, not the voice of a person with issues.
OP did follow up with proof though, people who are too lazy to Google the quote are also too lazy to read OPs proof and instead act like they should be spoon fed everything.
