What's the difference between knowledge and wisdom?

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 37 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Knowledge is knowing it's a one way street. Wisdom is still looking both ways to check for crazies going the wrong way.

Knowledge is knowing that tomatoes are a fruit. Wisdom is not using it in fruit salad.

Enlightenment is doing it anyway because you like tomatoes.

!Cherry tomatoes are juicy and sweet, and are totally fine in a fruit salad!<

If anyone ever gives me a fruit salad with cherry tomatoes in it, I’m immediately going to go check their freezer for body parts.

[–] Zozano@lemy.lol 3 points 1 year ago

Don't check my freezer

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

Have you tried putting cherry tomatoes in a fruit salad? It's quite nice and common in parts of Asia

Technically salsa is a fruit salad, I put tomatoes in that

Wisdom is to knowing not to correct Aunt Bertha when she calls Uncle Frank a vegetable farmer at his funeral.

Within the image, realizing that everything is connected seems to be knowledge, and realizing the specific method of connection seems to be wisdom. Realistically, intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, but wisdom is knowing a tomato-based fruit salad is salsa.

Something to do with being able to figure out where a poison dart came from.
