Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. - No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Right, Trump is in control of the US. Trump is actively tearing apart the government. He's somehow busy wrecking everything and still whining on Twitter or Truth Social about how everything bad with tarrifs is Biden's fault and everything good despite Trump is his success.
Bernie is still fighting despite his party not being in the majority. Bernie is still doing rallies.
Harris isn't in any office, Bernie is. Clinton isn't in any office, Bernie is. Same with AOC. Out there doing national rallies to build numbers to at least get a voice of "Let's end Trump." They haven't left office.
Bernie is actively at least showing up to his job, and still finding time to go outside and do things. How does this invalidate my statement? Bernie is helping, Harris is doing nothing. Bernie is trying to gather people to stop Trump, Clinton isn't doing anything.
Bernie started his political career in 1981 as the mayor of Burlington, Vermont
Forty-four years later he’s rallying.
Trump started his political career in 2016 as president.
Nine years later he is still president and took over the US government.
So?
That's the best and really only response to that moron's rambling.
They are an absolute nonce. And should at best be ignored and at second best asked like a grade schooler "So" or "Why" to break down their point that only sounds like something smart.
And lemmy.world won't ban them, but will ban you for proving a mod wrong, or standing up to .world trolls.
Oh .world communities are definitely the new worse place on Lemmy.
Very US school system where you blame those being picked on for not leaving and no longer making it a problem for them that you exist rather than clean up their own messes because it's easier to pretend bullies need to be appeased.
I one time got a mod to admit through what felt like gritted teeth that I hadn't officially broke any "niceness" rules but were going to temp ban me anyways cause my reports of the .world user threatening me and inventing lies to slander me with was annoying.
I don’t think I can be any clearer so just document these words and re-visit them every once in a while.
No genuinely, what is your point? Bernie has been arrested for marching for Civil Rights in the 1960s. https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-4406890016
So Bernie having a long track record is bad, but Trump tricking America using Russian assistance is good? Like what is the point here? Trump 9 years of running, Bernie in office for a while, therefore Bernie bad?
In less then a decade Trump took over the states completely with his movement and your response to that is Bernie started twenty years before I gave him credit for it?
And that's a victory in your eyes?
In all metrics Trump has achieved more in nine years then Bernie has in sixty.
So your advocating for more politicians to be more like trump and less like Bernie. Is that your point.
If by that you mean effective then yes.
So most effective equals most good. There's a old saying about that you know. It doesn't generally turn out well. "The ends justify the means". You wanna "efficiently" discuss eliminating the homeless problem' or any other minority you or someone else might find inconvenient. This won't go well and you know it. I a ant Bernie to be more effective too but this is a systemic user issue. We the people have/had the power to control this and stupid has won the day. Right wing authoritarian leaders are a PEBKAC issue.
Yes in politics the most effective usually get the most votes and the progressives could learn from it.
Liberals (like yourself) with a hate boner for progressives are largely indistinguishable from Trump supporters these days. It's hilarious.
Is it because we vote or is it because we don’t spend all our time telling other people they aren’t left enough to be part of our cause?
So how many progressives didn't vote this time around? Give us a number.
More then one and I can be pretty confident in that.
