go figure. i felt confused about it and most people i've talked to says it's just some conservative bullshit wrapped in women enpowerment.

~~Pretty straightforward: where does the awareness that porn wrecks your mind and sexuality stops and where does simply conservatism towards sexuality begins (even in cases akin to bolshe morality)?~~

EDIT: okay, better clarifying it - i came across some video from some youtuber claiming that pornography is evil, period. and that there are things such as "metapornography", which could apply to someone in instagram posting videos of themselves in scant dressing and claiming likes of it. and that no-fap and anti-masturbation movements are good things.

i was really confused about that since that person came from apparently a progressive-yet-moralistic background. but talking to other people to see if some of my impressions checked, it came to my mind that it was a heavily directed video intended to attract left-leaning people to a conservative agenda. my bad.

miami. orlando (i.e. disney world and universal). las vegas. dubai. any other middle-to-upper class playground.

on the other hand, so people cannot say i mentioned anywhere in the center of capitalism: i'd love to meet ireland, scotland, brittany, galiza. the museums in new york, london, madrid, barcelona and paris are indeed something to see. the historic buildings and excavations in rome are of interest. and restaurant, café and bar-trotting in madrid, valencia, barcelona, paris, vienna, amsterdam, rome, naples, tokyo is something i'd love to do.

first of all, there are people that relate to you, and cherish you and love you. i was quite happy to see that most people here were supportive of you and overcoming this bad moment on your life (because that's what it is, a moment. it won't last forever). you have value in yourself and there's no greater justification in living than knowing that you deserve to live and be who you are simply because you exist, and you are, period. you yourself amount to many important things and if people don't value you for who you are, screw them, who weren't able to cherish that beautiful complexity on yourself.

that being said, you need help. and the first thing to tackle is, like others have said, overcoming your addiction. there are several ways of getting help on this: many community centers, even in the united states, keep narcotics anonymous groups on their premises. serious groups will have a way with providing you with medical assistance, which will be needed;

  • if, and only if, you are comfortable with going to a place of worship, they often receive meetings of n.a. groups, and serious priests, pastors, rabbis, imams, nuns and monks can give you some direction on where to find help without asking anything in exchange. stay away from sects such as scientology;
  • from there, you can get the psychological and psychiatric help that you need to better cope with the adhd, being able to live with it and improve your learning and social skills;
  • social services can help you find a job, qualification and help you if there's any trouble;
  • take advantage of everything that's free in order to better yourself, such as courses and books that are available at your local libraries;
  • and most importantly, a day at a time. you will find some difficulties, especially with divesting your old ways, but stand for yourself first and foremostly. some days will be harder than others. learn to forgive yourself and others for things that did not went right, but you don't have to accept anyone back into your life if they didn't changed their ways that have hurt you so much. here and there you will take falls, but find the strength to start over, and over, and over. you're not perfect, but that's ok! who is, anyway?

i agree mostly with you, even thought i'm a foreigner. i'd just like to point out that even though there are doubts about trump continuing america's support of a genocide (and i believe he won't have that much of a problem since both major parties in america support it), there's everything else about him.

and also, everything else about the dems too. let's just say that major lawfare campaigns against progressive governments here in latin america have been conducted under dem rule in the u.s.. brazil and uruguay had their coups d'état orchestrated by the johnson administration. honduras, paraguay and brazil suffered lawfare coups under the obama administration.

there are a number of countries that are neutral and unlikely to sanction anyone else, though one might argue about their democratic credentials, with a minor or major stretch. brazil, mexico, chile, colombia, costa rica, uruguay (just to name a few in latin america), andorra, malta, san marino, india, south africa...

I don't think there's anything that I eat that couldn't be served to anyone else. Even some particularly Brazilian dishes, such as cooked cassava or corn couscous with milk and butter are pretty much vanilla compared to some other local dishes which I dread - such as buchada (a brazilian haggis, made with rice and goat offals), sarapatel (just the cooked goat offals) or chouriço doce (a reduction of sugar, spices and pig blood).

surely having a low self-esteem is worse. life goes on. why bother over that one single log when you've got all the forest to explore?

good take. the shift began at a point where not only work became more deregulated, but women were pressed to work out of home and accumulate both their jobs and the function of homemaker. you start to fight more for your rights, and men start to believe the neocon "rights for men" mumbo-jumbo.

I'm in the course of pursuing a change in my career towards software engineering/architecture. So far I've been brought mostly to C#/.NET and Java, though Java attracts me more, even considering that it might be a "dying" language. Still, Scala and Clojure are there, so I thought that they might give a pump at least to JVMs. In your opinion, should I invest in pursuing certifications/jobs in this field, or sticking to C#/.NET is a better path?

New language promises to reduce compilation times by using all threads and gpu cores available on your machine. What's your opinions on it so far?
