I think also bans "coal-rolling" ... If that wasn't already illegal.

It would be more likely to be critically hit by an SUV or pick-up, just saying.

I'm guessing this is a "leopards ate my face" situation for a lot of people.

Recently I saw a meme showing some poor crewman with his window facing the red glow of a warp nacelle, but I've lost it now.

Does anyone know where I can find it?

Interpretation
Proximity to traffic and high air interchange increased the exposure to air pollution of commuters using motorised transport. Larger inhalation rates and commuting time increased inhaled dose among active commuters. Benefits of active commuting from physical activity are larger than the risk from an increased inhaled dose of fine particles.

I've often wondered about the net effect. Interesting.

I don't even know what the FAA counterpart for maritime is.

The FAA has issued a final rule that will require most larger aircraft built after Jan. 1, 2028, to meet new efficiency standards designed to reduce their carbon emissions per passenger mile. The new rule will cover all subsonic jets with a maximum takeoff weight of more than 12,500 pounds and turboprops with an MTOW of 19,000 pounds.

I rented a Bolt EV from Hertz once. The car was fine, but the charging stations in the area were mostly broken, or they required downloading an app and giving personal information to charge.

I got the feeling the charging networks are all about collecting government incentives and the sale of private information from subscribers, and not at all about service.

My new preferred rental car is no rental car at all.

I guess for each rep it comes down to whether they think the folks in their district will be upset more because they let the government grind to a halt or they colluded with Democrats.

I'm worried that in many districts, voters are so polarized that they would see working across the aisle as heresy. It's the same reason Jordan got 190ish votes publicly, but only 86 in a secret ballot.

I didn't read it, but my first thought was they trained it to associate speech patterns with wealth and/or education, which correlates with diabetes for all the usually reasons in the US health non-care system.

Edit: I'm probably wrong:

The scientists analysed more than 18,000 recordings and 14 acoustic features for differences between those who had diabetes and those who did not.

They looked at a number of vocal features, like changes in pitch and intensity that cannot be perceived by the human ear.

Someone here is seeing this xkcd for the first time just now...

It should surprise no bros that Southern California still wants to add one more lane to fix traffic.

After the last expansion project, traffic on I-405 only got worse. Metro wants to try again.

Under the proposal, Metro will “add and shift Measure R (Metro 2008 countywide sales tax) Multimodal Highway Subregional Program funds to various projects, mostly freeway lanes/ramps expansion and arterial streets/intersections expansion,
