It doesn't matter... In this conflict, whatever you say will be said to fake news and lies by the other side.

Controlling who can come and settle doesn't make a state authoritarian.

Current day Switzerland is not Nazi Germany.

The author has been active on news.ycombinator.com.

I morally support the endeavor, but unfortunately the search algo is trash.

That's because TV commercials were usually well made, or for stuff you might need. For the stuff you didnt need, it was entertaining. (You remember the IBM TV ads in the 90s?) YouTube ads are for overpriced junk and dropshipping (raycon earbuds) when it's not get rich quick scams.

To be fair, Amsterdam red-light district is really safe, thanks to the windows and cops patrols. The plan to move them outside of the city in some shady areas is lowering the safety for all parties involved. And the reasons behind the move are basically "Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?"

SBS made a good documentary about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxn84mAduXo

I support the freedom of the press. But I'm sometimes amazed how westerners, like myself, travel to authoritarian countries, get in trouble, and go "How could it be?! (shocked pikachu face)"

You know how I stay out of trouble? I don't travel to shithole countries. I stay in my not-perfect, but nice, democratic country.

This being said, I hope she gets freed ASAP.
