Censorship strikes again.

We need lemmy instances with less censorship.

What about Peertube?

[–] propitiouspanda@lemmy.cafe 0 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

How come the issue doesn't exist in Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring?

[–] propitiouspanda@lemmy.cafe 0 points 15 hours ago

"It's simple" didn't imply usage of game engine nor time.

I also never said simple. I said easy.

I challenged you by trying it yourself to see how easy it is. Have you tried doing it yourself? I'd wager not, and probably win said wager.

Here's a 5 minute tutorial in how to do it in Godot to get you started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GURxA8MvkkM

Now, reply to me with further excuses for why it's "too hard."

Where is it mentioned that is that task?

Also, where are you getting 3 minutes from?

Why are you mentioning the Quake 3 engine?

Already done.

Soft-body physics aren't hard.

In fact, I challenge you to do it yourself so you can see exactly how easy it is.

I didn’t think I’d have to point out that adding a cape is a similar pain in the ass.

Yeah, skill issue.

[–] propitiouspanda@lemmy.cafe 1 points 22 hours ago

I mean, if it doesn't then it's just adding to the model.

Django from Boktai had a scarf. I doubt it was difficult to add.

Even then, it becomes a problem of adding a gear system at all and a scarf is pretty irrelevant.

TL;DR: It’s not just another piece of gear.

Yes it is. It's identical to adding a cape.

TL;DR: skill issue

They were bought by IBM a few years back, but even aside from that they’re a corporation and they care about making money above all else.

It looks like Red Hat is doing its damnedest to consolidate as much power for themselves within the Linux ecosystem.

I don’t think the incessant Fedora shilling is unrelated.

It seems like there isn’t much criticism of the company or their tactics, and I’m curious if any of you think that should change.

I'm thinking we should take community (private) servers to the next level.

Instead of relying on one project to safekeep our characters after potentially thousands of hours of playtime, could we have projects that are interoperable with one another?

Projects could have a list of other projects that they accept server transfers to/from. Character data can be exported with a signature to ensure authenticity.

It seems like this is the future, we're just not there yet.

Any additional input on this would be appreciated. I don't know much about digital signatures, but it looks like they would be appropriate here.
