Gutzon Borglum was the sculptor and was involved with the KKK. He was chosen because he was the sculptor of the "Shrine to the Confederacy” which was the inspiration for Mount Rushmore.

Guess it shouldn’t be too surprising given the way the land was taken from the local tribes despite it being sacred.

Credit to this comment by u/alcoholicorn that drove me to look it up.

I switched to reusable shopping bags along with the rest of Colorado when they enacted a ban this year and honestly prefer them now. Once you get in the habit of bringing them to stores it’s easy.

It’s almost as if money has a huge influence on elections and allowing legal bribery of politicians and judges probably isn’t the best route to improving conditions for disadvantaged members in any society.

And I don’t see how pushing to continue to fund and supply their genocide is “pro-Palestinian”.

Yeah AIPAC is trying to send a message with these huge spending amounts, speaking out against Zionism and Israel’s genocide gets you removed.

Not sure how this country peacefully fixes its many issues when bribery of politicians and judges is completely legal.

Damn really unfortunate for the owl but would have been an interesting day at the zoo to watch that whole thing play out.

I know you’ve been getting downvotes but just wanted to say thank you for voting PSL!

Sounds like it was pressure to get TNT to follow through on his contract even if they lose the NBA broadcasting rights.

Thank you for posting this! Found it informative and the pictures were helpful as well.

100% agree, NBA media won’t be the same after they’re gone but they’ve all more than earned it.

The best way to trigger them more often is to get in the habit of holding your nose closed and try to breathe through it while you’re awake. Obviously you won’t be able to breathe through it while awake but doing this enough will get you more likely to think to do it in a dream where you will be able to “breathe” through it and know your dreaming.

On the flip side I’ve found weed typically stops dreams, believe it’s due to affecting REM sleep.

JOHN CARLOS: Yeah, “Blimey, John. You’re calling me with these blimey questions here?” And I said to him, I said, “Pete, I have a concern, man. What’s this about you don’t want to have your statue there? What, are you backing away from me? Are you ashamed of us?” And he laughed, and he said, “No, John.” He said—you know, the deep thing is, he said, “Man, I didn’t do what you guys did.” He said, “But I was there in heart and soul to support what you did. I feel it’s only fair that you guys go on and have your statues built there, and I would like to have a blank spot there and have a commemorative plaque stating that I was in that spot. But anyone that comes thereafter from around the world and going to San Jose State that support the movement, what you guys had in ’68, they could stand in my spot and take the picture.”

Really cool move here. Like the message it sends that anyone can (and should) stand up and do the right thing and support those that are oppressed.

Yeah I don’t really think there’s a way to have a team for the regular league overseas given the travel that would require.

Sounds like they’d try to start their own league as a competitor to the euro league but it’s super early stages of planning.

Like I kinda said in my last paragraphs you’ve got fair points that it may be good enough for what it’s being used for here (despite it’s clear biases) since it’s not being used to disallow posts. Although other commenters have said it has a pro-Zionist bias as well which is honestly more concerning than things I’ve pointed out. Haven’t had time to check beyond the ADL one.

Overall my main issue is the community wasn’t really asked if one was desired, which one should be used, how it should be used, etc. Because of that and the lack of good response by the poster I’ve already decided to follow other world news communities instead of this one.
