马克思认为,人的意识是人的存在的反应,而人的本质是一切社会关系的总和。只有改变一个人的外在社会关系,这个人才可能真正被改造。

推论出,想要改变一个社会的精神文化、政治生活等上层意识形态,必须从基础物质生活的生产方式上入手。

把上层建筑的基础生产方式改了,那么整个社会意识也会随之改变。

人只能通过在 社会实践中,被逐步改造。这种论点和 主观的人的论点是不同的。

社会意识在社会实践被改造,所以改变人的方法有两个:一,学习,二,实践。

主观比较容易,而客观就很艰难。

毛选本质上就是在客服这种问题,也就是不断克服 “左倾”和“右倾”的问题。

实事求是,就是克服左倾、右倾以及主观臆想。难在与自己做斗争。

主观便是假话和谎言,芸芸众生,都生活在一个假象世界中,释迦摩尼他们找到了真实,所以成了佛。

毛主席找到了真理,所以被历史选择并走到了人民群众的前面,我们要追的,就是黑暗中的那一点灵光,而不是在黑暗中徜徉。

 

Recently, the U.S. courts rightly rejected Elon Musk's $56 billion compensation package, yet the online debate continues, with Musk himself deeming the decision unreasonable. It is clear that anyone questioning this verdict is engaging in idealistic thinking, rooted in bourgeois ideology within a capitalist society.

Essentially, believing that Musk deserves this astronomical salary is ideologically identical to endorsing the idea that working 996 hours is a blessing.

Bourgeois idealism is a hallmark of capitalist culture, characterized by individual heroism and the myth that capitalists single-handedly create the world. According to this narrative, it is Musk’s personal talent and charisma that built the Tesla empire and accomplished the impossible, thus justifying his $56 billion reward. This same glorification of capitalist heroism also created the false idol of "Daddy Ma," who supposedly led Alibaba to create jobs for the Chinese market. People are expected to be “grateful” for these jobs, and working overtime is even seen as a blessing. This is the cultural propaganda pushed by the bourgeoisie: it is subjective, detached from actual social development, and fabricated through media manipulation. Understanding the power of public opinion, it is no surprise that Musk expended great effort to acquire Twitter.

But what about the people, the working class? How should we, from a historical materialist perspective, view such issues? Marx teaches us that all development cannot be separated from history, reality, and the people. Tesla's success is a product of the times. It arises from the contradiction between the growing demand for cars and the societal shift away from oil dependency (a government-driven shift since oil is a strategic commodity).

Why do electric cars sell well in China? It is because the Chinese government aims to develop new energy vehicles and gradually reduce dependence on oil imports. Simultaneously, the overproduction technologies of capitalism align with China’s cheap labor and its desire to transform its industries through technology. This is also indicative of capitalism's "semi-colonial" expansion into less developed regions, engaging in large-scale capital exploitation to reduce costs and enhance competitiveness, a historical mission of all capitalist societies. The unique economic environment has led to the popularity of products in underdeveloped regions, further exploiting society. Before Tesla’s factory was built in China in 2019, the company was nearly failing. Afterward, the cheap Chinese labor and favorable policies opened new markets for Tesla. Of course, the development in the U.S. market follows a similar pattern. Therefore, Tesla's success is not due to Musk's prowess but is driven by historical and societal forces. It is the current global context and the people who have made Tesla possible. Even without Musk, there would be others to take his place. The $56 billion should rightfully belong to all the people who contributed to creating Tesla.

Similarly, Alibaba's success stems from the contradiction between the growing demand for fast purchasing and outdated shopping methods in China, coupled with the development of mobile internet technology, which provided a platform for new forms of online shopping and payment. This joint force propelled Alibaba's remarkable growth, not the efforts of Jack Ma alone or a single management team.

Through the lens of historical materialism, we see that the development of society and the rise and expansion of capitalist companies are inextricably linked to current social contradictions and societal structures. The achievements of Tesla, Alibaba, or any company are not the result of individual or collective efforts alone. This makes it clear why the “$56 billion compensation” and the “996 is a blessing” narratives are entirely idealistic and contrary to social laws.

We must break free from the illusions of capital and capitalist culture, and return to an objective historical perspective to see the history that belongs to the people.

 

最近,美国检察院合理的驳回了马斯克 560亿薪酬,但网上依旧讨论不断,就连马斯克本人,都认为这是不合理的。显而易见的是,凡是对此论述有所持怀疑态度的同学,都是唯心的,而且是资本主义社会下的,资产阶级唯心论。

本质上,认为马斯克应该拿到560亿薪酬,和 认为 996就是福报,在意识形态上,是完全统一的。

资产阶级唯心论是资本主义社会文化的典型代表之一,其特征就是个人英雄主义,资本家创造世界论。按照这个说法,是马斯克的个人能力和魅力,一手打造了特斯拉帝国,实现了不可能完成的任务,所以功劳应该在他,自然便可以拿到560亿天价酬劳。也是这种鼓吹资本家英雄论,造就了马云爸爸的虚假神像,在他的领导下,创造了阿里巴巴,给中国市场创造了就业机会,人家给你提供就业,你就应该“感恩戴德”,加班甚至也是一种福报。这便是资产阶级所鼓吹的文化,是不客观的,脱离实际社会发展的,凭空依靠宣传手段造就的。因为深谙其中舆论的作用,马斯克耗费极大力气,去购买twitter,也就显而易见了。

那么对于人民呢,工人阶级呢?我们该以什么样的历史唯物主义视角,去看待这种问题?马克思告诉我们,一切的发展是不能够脱离历史、实际和人民的。应该说,特斯拉的发展,本身是时代造就的。里面的矛盾是人们日益增长的购车出行需求,与社会对石油资源的剥离的矛盾(注意,这种剥离是政府性的,因为石油这种大宗商品,本身就是政府性的)。

为什么中国市场电动汽车卖的好?是因为中国政府希望发展新能源汽车,逐步脱离石油进口的依赖。同时,资本主义过剩的生产技术,和中国廉价劳动力以及希望发展技术进行产业转型的需求,是相合的,这也是资本主义在落后地区“半殖民”的体现,向欠发达地区扩张,进行大规模资本掠夺,降低成本,提升竞争力,是所有资本社会的历史使命。而特殊的经济环境,又造就了产品在欠发达地区的热销,进一步对社会进行剥削。在2019年中国建厂之前,特斯拉几乎摇摇欲坠,而这之后,廉价的中国劳动力与广阔的政策带来的市场,给特斯拉打开了新的世界。当然,美国市场的发展也是类似。所以说,特斯拉的成功,并不是马斯克的能力有多强,而是历史与社会发展推动道指的,是当前全球社会背景与人民造就了特斯拉,就算没有马斯克,也会有牛斯克,驴斯克。这560亿真正应该给予的,是所有创造了特斯拉的人民。

同样,阿里巴巴的发展,是因为一方面,中国出现了人们增长的快速购买需求和商场落后的购买方式的矛盾,同时,随着移动互联网技术的发展,为新型网络购买与支付,带来载体。共同催生了阿里巴巴的辉煌发展,而不是马云一个人或一只管理团队所能造就的。

根据历史唯物主义的辩证思想,我们看到,一切社会的发展与资本公司的产生、壮大,都是离不开当前社会矛盾与社会载体的,特斯拉、阿里巴巴或任何公司的成就,都不是某个人或某些人创造的。这样也就不难理解,为什么宣扬个人英雄主义的“560亿薪酬论”与“修福报”是完全唯心且不符合社会规律的了。

我们要脱离资本幻觉,脱离资本家文化,重新回到客观历史层面,才能看到属于人民的历史。

 

进步性,长期可持续发展的工作与行业 个人能力方面做定量积累,不可失去努力的意识。

有回旋余地,中国可以打持久战的特点,为地大物博与极大的战略纵深。中国人民具有生存空间与希望。游击战 与 后续的贡献,先生存,后发展。

Capital Alienation and Its Impact on Workers

Recently, more and more workers have begun to reflect on their own situations. This reflection often starts with a kind of pain, which stems from the harm caused by “capital alienation”—a profound sensory recognition.

However, this reflection and perception of pain have not yet reached a theoretical level. Many people still do not understand why they are in pain, especially the process of how this pain is generated and transmitted. Studying this process is very valuable because it can help us better understand and change the current situation.

1. Productive Forces and Production Relations

For those who have read "Selected Works of Mao Zedong," the concepts of productive forces and production relations are not unfamiliar. Mao Zedong elaborated on this relationship many times in "Selected Works."

He emphasized: All things can be transformed into tools of productive forces. This point is very important but easily overlooked. Especially "all things," which means anything can be transformed into a tool of productive forces, including human spirit and personality. For example, some people sell their kidneys, and the kidney becomes a productive tool; some people sell their bodies, and the body becomes a productive tool; some people sell their power, and power becomes a productive tool. This transformation involves not only items but also human spirit and personality.

2. The Emergence of Capitalization and Mammonism

Marx pointed out that the essence of mammonism is the process of capitalization. To understand this, we must understand money. The original role of money was as a general equivalent, which itself was a commodity, such as sheep, copper, shells, etc., in the past. Gold and silver, due to their special properties, gradually became widely adopted. With the development of commodity circulation, situations where people sell without buying appeared. After selling their products, people did not immediately buy new products but stored money to buy what they wanted at any time. Due to the intermediary role of money, the essence of commodity exchange was broadened. People’s purpose in selling products was no longer to obtain another product but to obtain money. The more extensive the circulation of money, the broader the range of items that money can purchase, and the more prominent the importance of money becomes. This phenomenon is what "Das Kapital" describes as money becoming the representation of social wealth.

Since all things can be transformed into tools of productive forces to obtain money, conversely, in an unrestricted free market, money can buy everything. Thus, people's desire for material goods transforms into a desire for money, leading to mammonism. Obtaining and storing more money becomes a social phenomenon, the importance of money increasingly grows, and money possesses enormous social power. And money is private, so the "social power" of money is actually "private personal power," those who have money can exchange it for anything. "Money can make the devil turn millstones" is a reflection of this social power. Those who have a lot of money will capitalize on important things, and this process has no bottom line, no margin, and no time limit. The consequences are obvious.

(For example, Chiang Kai-shek's Northern Expedition funds came from the Soviet Union. This money allowed the Northern Expedition Army to fight all the way to Wuhan, then reach an agreement with the Jiangsu-Zhejiang financial cliques, and obtain a large amount of capital from Britain, the United States, and Japan, becoming comprador capitalists, completing the integration of the Kuomintang and warlords. On the other hand, Mao Zedong's capital came from Jinggangshan and Yan'an, relying solely on the people. With this background, reading "On New Democracy" helps understand the blueprint of the state he intended to create.)

3. The Origin and Development of Capitalization

In the previous sections, we overlooked the most fundamental issue: what does capitalization mean, and how is capital generated? We can imagine a scenario where one party holds money or a certain amount of production materials and living materials, while the other party has nothing and has to sell their labor. They meet in a completely free market and engage in buying and selling labor (including everything the worker can sell). This is the starting point of capital. Our common job recruitment and job searching are the same.

How does capital develop? The output of workers, on one hand, as the product of the production process, is occupied by capitalists. The occupied products are transformed into capital and the means for capitalists to continuously extract surplus value. On the other hand, after each production process ends, workers leave the production process just as they entered it. They have nothing and have to sell their only labor to survive. After working for a year, the capitalist boss buys a new car, a new house, and marries a new wife, while you need to continue looking for jobs and worrying about potential job losses. This is the development of capital.

4. How to Change

In "Selected Works," Mao Zedong has already transformed into a doctor and prescribed solutions. One of them is to establish an intellectual team of the proletariat and proletarian culture.

What kind of culture do we need to create? It must be a culture that helps us destroy the exploitative economy and overthrow imperialism. Because there is a new democratic culture, there must be imperialist and feudal cultural forces. When we promote the idea that the people are the masters, the feudal landlords must promote the culture of Confucian revival, the culture of slavery, the theory of exploitation, and the great role of landlords.

Imperialists promote the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, "peace," and the culture of "good citizens." They promote international common culture, non-resistance, and surrender culture. Capitalists promote the culture of "blessing" from the capital, the culture that capitalists create the world, that capitalists feed workers, the culture of capitalist hard work and entrepreneurship, the culture of capitalist diligence and progress, the culture of capitalists creating history, and so on.

What should we do? We should promote the culture of people creating history, the culture of materialism, the culture of laborers, the culture of equality, the culture of socialism, the culture of eliminating social wealth gaps, and so on.

This struggle has never ceased. It existed in the past, exists now, and will continue in the future. Why do we emphasize culture? Because it is the closest to us, the most deeply felt, and the easiest to overlook.

5. Capitalism Turns the World Upside Down

The brilliance of "Das Kapital" is that it tells us how the world has been turned upside down.

Originally, labor created value, but the capitalist world turned it into capital creating value;

Originally, humans should control things, but capitalism turned it into things controlling humans;

Originally, workers and peasants supported capitalists, but capitalism turned it into capitalists supporting workers and peasants;

Originally, workers created surplus value, but the capitalist world turned it into capital earning profits;

Originally, workers created the material wealth, but capitalism turned it into this wealth not belonging to the workers but to a few capitalists;

Originally, it was the accumulation of blood and sweat of generations of workers, but capitalism turned it into the result of a few generations of effort by a few people;

Originally, it was the capitalist system and the capital class maintaining it that pushed farmers and workers into poverty, but the capitalist world turned it into the laziness and lack of progress of workers and farmers;

Originally, the benefits of labor should be enjoyed by all members of society, but the capitalist world turned it into the benefits belonging to the capitalists, while the risks are borne by the masses.

The brilliance of "Das Kapital" lies in its comprehensive and profound analysis of how capitalism turns the world upside down.

And the subtlety of "Selected Works of Mao Zedong" is that, based on Marxism-Leninism, it tells us how to turn the upside-down world back to its original state through revolutionary means. If “Das Kapital” tells us how capitalism turns the world upside down, then “Selected Works of Mao Zedong” tells us how to restore the world to its original state.

Based on the above content, workers can have a deeper understanding of their pain.

It's really a good question. (I'm really impressed you asked that, seems you are an expert for Chinese history/politics). I'm just a normal guy, so I may only answer it from my view.

When we were young at school, we were told that as you described in the post. China decided to do mixed economy to develop and adapt to the world, but our goal is still communism. This is an ideal dream for the previous leaders of China, we all admire them, like Deng XiaoPing (Tough he was tough on some certain aspects). We call it the "Reform and Opening-up" (Since 1978).

Nowadays, people are still arguing whether this idea was good and whether China still has its initial dream to become a communism country, for some ppl in China believe the reform has failed because china has turned to be a total capitalism country inside like the western world.

But from my life experience, with the mixed economy idea, china developed so so fast, when ppl thought that we should put economy to the first instead of the political system during 1980(1978 is the exact year) to 2018. not only economy, but also arts/humanism/technologies.

However, things changed in the recent 5 years, with the covid destroyed the economy and Xi changed the Chinese constitution that he can be president forever (this is a huge thing in china for us, for it changed the whole political atmosphere, we all feel sad), and we don't know why the current government becomes aggressive and has a lot conflicts with other countries. In this situation, China is not as energetic as it used to be. Many ppl think China has reached a crucial crossroads in its destiny now.

Hi! getting a Chinese SIM card is a wise decision as roaming can be quite expensive. I'm sorry that both Line and Google Map require a VPN. However, you don't need to worry. If your wide has a VPN, she can use them. CN takes action only against the public sale of VPNs or their use for illegal activities, but there's no problem with individuals using VPNs to browse Google or other apps. (Otherwise, what would Chinese developers do, haha!)

sad to know it. Those governors&medias did not do good things. Also I admit that the current CN government does have some issues.... a lot ppl may not like it. Many of us think it may be the US and CN problem that affects the relationship for CN and India as well. We really don;t know why nowadays a lot public medias just let ppl hate each others. ;(

In big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, I believe that around 80% of the younger generation might be familiar with panipuris, if you show the pics of it, they'll say "oh i know it". CN ppl call it "the Indian Crispy Ball". It has gained significant popularity in China, following TikTok and live streaming shows. around 30% of them might have even tasted it. (I work in an international company and the number shall be even higher)

As for chaats, the familiarity might be about half of that for panipuris.

Hi everyone and hope you're all well. I'm Chinese and I've spent the past 30 years of my life in China. During this time, I've witnessed incredible changes that have taken place in the country. Having also traveled to many other countries, I've noticed that there can be a disconnect between the international media's portrayal of China and the actual experiences of people living here.

In this post, I invite all of you to ask anything about China—whether it's about daily life, culture, societal changes, challenges, or the negitive/positive transformations I've seen. I'm just an ordinary citizen, but I'm here to share my observations and experiences in the most honest and unbiased way possible.

Feel free to leave your questions in the comments, and I'll do my best to provide insights into the real China as I've come to know it.

 

I initially met this issue but fixed after several changes on nginx https config and Lemmy config.

The background is that after I joined the Lemmy society, everyday we got feedbacks that ppl are facing federation issues with 0 comments on posts and subscribing issues.

Most of them are using docker compose and seems the config file of Lemmy is out dated from the official documentation.

This thread is for tracking this issue before we can get any root causes and making the PR for fixing it.
