One thing that this poem gets wrong is the bees. Bee colonies go somewhere else when they don't like their current situation. The principle is true, but bees specifically let beekeepers take their honey because it benefits both parties.

Sure, more people experience peace. But the violence and conflict has not gotten any milder for those who are subjected to it. I don't find it useful to claim we live in the most peaceful time when there are multiple unjustifiable wars going on all over the world, and the people who enjoy peace largely do so at the expense of those who suffer.

I'd strongly disagree there too. Y'know basically the entire internet runs on Linux right? Our global communication system containing the sum of all human knowledge is like 99% Linux servers. And the reason a whole bunch of companies sponsor the hell out of Linux now is because it's just that good and just that important on a global scale.
