Did I miss something? The gut-AU/HD link was established as legit enough to continue research for a while now, its just that idiot ex-doctor saw the language being used and ran with it to make money off of telling people that the old MMR vaccine may lead to some fake ass desease that caused autism.

Gut biome is pretty important and relevant to internal medicine throughout. I've not heard anyone say for certain that all ADHD cases are caused by bad gut health, but neither did the comment you are strawmanning.

I have found no representation anywhere on any level in today's politics, so this doesn't surprise me. As far as I'm concerned, if you're in politics and you are not demanding a full remodeling of the political system in this country, then you aren't representing me, queer or not.

Thats said, I guess its nice to see that there was only one who was in favor, I'd have thought there might be more given the current situation.

I mean, he claims responsibility, confirmed the existing evidence, then states his motives which aren't hard to understand for even those out of the loop. I think the brevity and simple reasoning speak volumes louder than some maniacs scribblings found in a cabin. The fact that even those considered Semliterate would be able to grasp the bulk of his message was likely intentional.

Its actually not shitty at all, presuming his purpose was to inspire a shift in public discourse around the topic.

If he wanted it to be the centerpiece of a dramatic documentary miniseries, then yes, it was shitty.

For me, there wasn't much available in the vein of live action media that I found to be affirming. I didn't care for RuPaul before hearing about his less than ideal thoughts of our community, so there isn't much.

I would say though, there is so much trans-esq/directly trans storylines to be found among Anime of all genres. I also found the dark(er) than real life focus that is most media of today to be a real negative part of my content. Once I stopped consuming dark fictional content, combined with limiting my video-based news, I found that I had sooooo much more room to both examine/appreciate/dream about a positive future for myself, especially my tolerance to withstand dysphoria.

One anime I really found myself relating to almost all of the characters in some aspect, including the very clearl gender-rebel or sorts, was Netflix's The Seven Deadly Sins (the show). If you like fun fantasy with the right amount of camp and silly tropes, Its a great watch.

The state just recently voted against an increase in wages that was broader in reach I believe. Probably related to that.

Note about the police:

This should really be taken with the understanding that I am a white (trans)woman, who is sober, quiet, who is well practiced in the masking needed to make these types of interactions survivable. I am acutely aware that I am very privileged to have not been treated in the way POC's have and still are. I feel like POC's are likely to be safe in MN, but I'm not qualified to really speak anything beyond that.

In total, I would guess I have had ~20-25 interactions with police over the last 1.5years. All but 2 of them were almost identical: Sleeping while parked legally overnight, and lasting all of 3 mins to knock on my covered window, do a quick ID check, and make sure im not drunk / OD'd

The other 2 were fortunately just as uneventful.

We all gotta examine our choices from time to time an make sure we are ok with what we considered when made them.

Otherwise we're likely to end up close minded and arrogant / cocksure and self-righteous.

I've had some time to step away, but I do want to address a certain aspect of your comment.

Setting aside your egregious assumptions about irrelevant discussion, your response reads to me 1 of 2 ways:

1. You are not very practiced in regular every day communication, and did not understand the discussion and its nuanced and specific nature. And you just jumped the shark, and skipped right on to debating(why?) the general themes of being a multi property company/landlord.

2. Or you felt the need to toss around your own life's experience as both relevant (it wasn't) or morally superior to a total stranger's. If you need that, then you have my blessing to see it that way, doesn't bother me.

Now, bringing back the assumptions that are so fucking telling of your privilege in life.

-My family member has never been a landlord and owns 1 home.

-I'm unhoused because I had the misfortune of coming out as trans to my disabled family member I had been helping take care of for 5 years and had been living with, and in the same week was let go along with 95% of the company because of a buyout. The lack of stability I'd counted on to push through the initial problems I knew would happen meant I had to still move out just without any income.

-my financial literacy is far below where I wish it were, but considering that I got to start out adulthood with my credit score already having been wrecked by my abusive guardians I barely made it away from, I'm doing pretty fucking well considering.

You need to read more, and keep your thoughts internal until you get used to speaking to people in real life. If this thread was a conversation in real life, everyone would have already walked off. JFC
