A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted, clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts: 1

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
    • If you feel strongly that you want politics back, please volunteer as a mod.
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report the message goes away and you never worry about it.

I really hope the developers weren't thinking about this pun while developing the plot...

Considering the developers speak Japanese, I highly doubt that

Gangrene in Japanese is "eso".
壊 (e) meaning demolish, destroy, or break.
疽 (so) meaning carbuncle.

Hold up, I just thought of Eso, a character from Jujutsu Kaisen who had an ability to rot his enemies from the inside via his blood. Could it be a pun as well?

That could be a pun for sure. Japanese is rife with puns.

It's like the first 5 minutes

Technically you don’t find out that the demon king at the beginning and ganondorf are one in the same until some time later… but it’s not really a surprise if you’ve played any other games in the series.

Yeah fair, but as you said if you know anything about Zelda at all it's pretty obvious who the demon king looks like and is supposed to be as soon as you see him.

Its rauru isn't it, but not that one, the one from ocarina of time.

Its ten minutes if you were standing around doing nothing for 5 minutes.

I like to walk slow for the roleplay

I've got the game sitting on my shelf in the box. Waiting for free time to play it. Idgaf if it's in the first 5 minutes. I'd rather not have spoilers in post titles.

If something from the literal start of the game is too spoilery, what could people talk about that wouldn't be? Or do you just want people not to talk about the game at all until you've played it?

[–] regalia 2 points 1 year ago

It's been out over 3 months now, I think it's not that unexpected for people to talk about the intro cutscene pretty much

Of the first ten or so minutes
