Sometimes it's James Cromwell.

[–] negativenull@startrek.website 19 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It was actually James Cromwell who triggered this for me! I was watching the DS9 episode from pic 2

Unexploded torpedo disposal with Quark?

[–] SzethFriendOfNimi@lemmy.world 11 points 11 months ago

That’ll do Quark, that’ll do

[–] ElBarto@sh.itjust.works 13 points 11 months ago

But how do we know James Cromwell isn't Jeffrey Combs?

[–] Doug@midwest.social 5 points 11 months ago

That's just a side effect of early warp testing

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 16 points 11 months ago

Sometimes it's Neelix as a Ferengi

Best part of Murder, She Wrote was seeing all the cameos. Vividly remember Q and Vir Coto popping up haha

Murder, She Wrote had tons of DS9 and VOY cast throughout its 12 season run: Seven of Nine, Janeway, Chakotay, Tom Paris, Garak, Kira, Odo, Damar, and of course Q as you mentioned, all showed up at one point or another. And that's just off the top of my head. Some of them were on more than once, playing entirely different characters.

In a recurring role as Dennis Stanton's secretary: Data's daughter, Lal.

I've been watching a lot of the Murder, She Wrote Roku channel lately. Like, a lot.

Edit: Keiko! I had to come back and add Keiko.

Kate Mulgrew played "Mrs. Colombo" in a spinoff the Colombo team didn't like. She was way too young and has an 8 year old child. She would have been pregnant at 15-16. It was nuts and was cancelled.

Murder She Wrote is awesome. It's a lot of fun seeing familiar faces on shows like that. Especially if it is before they hit it big.

Like George Clooney and Courteney Cox! Who both made appearances.

I've seen Nana Visitor pop up a few times. First Matlock, and later Battlestar Galactica and Grimm.

Aktually, it's never Jeffery Combs.

It's often Jeffrey Combs, however.

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 3 points 11 months ago

It might be Jeffrey Combs, its hard to be sure.

"Brunt! FCC!"

"Is this pinkskin diplomacy?"

"Oh my, that certainly is toxic, isn't it?"

[–] grue@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

“Brunt! FCC!”

Now I'm imagining some kind of weird cross between Brunt and Ajit Pai and my entire day is ruined. Thanks for that! 😡

Kurn took be by surprise since I am such a half life fan. The actor voiced the vortigaunts.

[–] KevonLooney@lemm.ee 8 points 11 months ago

You mean Tony Todd? He's much more famous for being Candyman. Also, he played older Jake Sisko.

"I shall try some of your burned, replicated bird meat."

[–] Doug@midwest.social 3 points 11 months ago

Also a Hirogen in Voyager, Smallville, SG-1, Chuck, you've seen him a lot probably regardless of what you usually watch.

He's also the voice of Venom in the most recent Spider-Man game

Was watching home alone 2 and Ron Canada is a cop.

[–] kaitco@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Ensign Ro was in that one episode before being Ro.

I could have looked her up, but my phone was more than an arm’s width away, so I gave up easily.

[–] Doug@midwest.social 2 points 11 months ago

And Robert Duncan McNeill was not-Tom Paris before he was Tom Paris.

Or was he Nicholas Locarno before later being not-Nicholas Locarno

What kind of Reddit-only locked terminal are you using to type on Reddit that you can't also use to search things up?

[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Sure, but trying to figure it out yourself is half the fun.

[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

There’s the fun part. I’m so bad I’ll never get it right anyway

[–] Rozz@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 11 months ago

The internet has ruined this for me. If I can't place someone and can't look it up I get so frustrated.
