So the Win 600 got ragged on on its initial release, mostly for its weak chip and the cost when compared to the Deck as well as the choice for single channel memory.

However, now that new Intel entry-level chips are coming out...the single channel memory choice actually makes sense, seeing as the Intel chips are single channel as well. The issue was with using an AMD chip with the then dated Vega architecture, which demanded multiple channel memory for better performance.

Everything surprisingly fits if you pretend the PCB was designed for Intel. Single-channel, rated for 5-6W (yes, the N100 is marketed for desktops, but it's virtually a mobile/laptop chip anyways and the Win 600 came with an internal fan), the chip can fit in a 3" x 3" space, ideal for portability, and it's very cheap and not in demand. The N100 is even more powerful with more cores, increased clock speeds and a more powerful Iris Xe 24 EU iGPU. The only thing I would change would be the screen to a 480p one to set consumer expectations better and to cut costs down.

but Windows isn't designed for 480p 4:3!

AYN ironically proved this wrong with their resolution utility, with Windows 11 running at 720 x 480 just fine.

With the Deck having thoroughly cornered the 720p-800p space a lot of companies have moved into the luxury demographic to adapt, but I still think technology has moved far along enough that a 480p budget handheld, and more importantly, pocketable PC is viable.
