Sung to the tune of Corning My Religion, of course.

…getting ready for the impact. And I don't know if I can do it…

if you drift you could hit both

[–] mwproductions@lemmy.world 20 points 22 hours ago

I still remember one of the questions on my written driving test from almost 30 years ago. It was something like:

A group of pedestrians start crossing the road in front of you, just as the light turns green for you. What do you do?

  • Honk your horn and yell at them.
  • Nothing, just wait for them to finishing crossing.
  • Rev your engine to scare them into crossing faster.
  • Hit one to teach the rest a lesson.

I was so tempted to pick the last option.

If you drift, you can catch them both!

Do those come as an option with cybertrucks?

[–] Bonus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

They appear gigantic enough for the possibility.

See, this one understands. Combo multipliers are important to winning new high scores!

Ooh, an elementary school playground during recess! engages 4WD

My truck is lifted so that I can safely cruise over all the babies in the road. Just gotta keep them between the tires.

Trying to hit all two
But I don't know if I can do it

[–] 0ops@lemm.ee 1 points 5 hours ago

It's like bowling, if you hit one pedestrian at just the right angle you can knock them into the other

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 6 points 22 hours ago

Pull the emergency brake, spin the wheel, and drift. You got this.

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 2 points 19 hours ago

excellent idea, there's no crime if there's no witnesses

[–] OwlPaste@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago

why is that baby not on a leash!

How about driving with at most that speed that would allow you to break to a full stop inside the range you can see. Or within half that range if the street is to narrow for another passing car.

[–] LordKitsuna@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

That's my favorite thing about these images. The car is so far back even speeding it should be able to stop

[–] match@pawb.social 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

There should realistically be an option for driving off the road into the trees.

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 7 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

or not speeding in the first place

[–] drosophila@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Ideally the speed limit should be set such that it would always be possible to stop in time at such crossings. Even more ideally the road would be designed such that it would be impossible to exceed that limit.

Unfortunately there are many places where this is not the case.

[–] vorpuni@jlai.lu 1 points 6 hours ago

They pretend they do this in France and let cars and worse, panel vans, park 0-10m from the crossings, the law says minimum 5m away, since most towns aren't compliant there's a date they have to be compliant by: keeps getting pushed back because no one gives a shit and no one scrapes off the lines marking the parking spots.

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 3 points 18 hours ago

what is that, common sense?

woke bs like that has no place in US urban design

[–] voicesarefree@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

I think I thought I saw you die

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago

What an idiot. There’s a whole picnic just out of frame that’s had it too good for too long.

[–] ramble81@lemmy.zip 3 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

I’ve always been torn on this choice. The baby doesn’t have any history, and frankly, you can always make another. But on the other hand the old lady has already lived most all of her life (well all of her life depending on this decision). I mean there isn’t a good answer unless you try to go for a two’fer

[–] Harrk@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

To be in this position the car has already ignored several warning signs and presumably maintained a speed that doesn’t allow it to break in time. So 1) Don’t let the car be in a position to have to make this choice in the first place. 2) Say fuck it, speed up and send that old lady flying. May as well give her the exit of her lifetime in the painless way possible…

[–] match@pawb.social 2 points 22 hours ago

Crash the car into the trees

[–] AZX3RIC@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Tryin not to keep, eye on road And I don't stop for dogs before, for. Oh no I missed stop sign. Didn't stop enough.

[–] toofpic@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

And it's done as a console game choice - you have to pump X or O fast enough, otherwise you kill them both
