Oh good. It’s not like Hurricane season doesn’t happen every year or anything.

[–] SpontaneousCombustion@lemmy.world 51 points 3 days ago (3 children)

What’s needed is a hurricane to hit Mar a Largo and flatten it. I’d bet FEMA would be resurrected the next day.

[–] Graphy@lemmy.world 36 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Probably not. Trump would bully the insurance company to reimburse whatever insane price he values the property at.

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

It would most likely end up in court with Trumps habit of over valuing everything he owns. That along with the fact he probably has only the very vaguest of ideas of how insurance works, like most people, he'd be in the media bitching about everything calling it a scam and so forth.

True :-) Unfortunately

Once he’s POTUS For Life, and has declared himself King, his lands will be nationalized and become tax payer funded.

Nah they’d just use the backdoor that musk put into the Treasury Department to “lose” some money in orangeboi’s direction

As if he knows what Hurricane Season is either.

I live every day like hurricane season

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 25 points 3 days ago

Does it matter at this point?

This administration can't even deploy illegally called up troops on American soil backed up with logistics.

THATS WHAT WE EXCELLED AT AND TURNED US INTO A SUPERPOWER!!

Mark my words. A real war is going to break out and we will absolutely get our asses handed to us.

All the good personal are gone.

Let's suppose for a moment that they actually succeed in dismantling/removing all these federal things. Just for the sake of argument.

At what point will the states band together to say "we've had enough" and call a constitutional convention and just... dismantle the fed?

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago

Most of the gulf states are Trump loving fools. He'll tell them it is the insurance companies fault and that he's definitely going to fix it, he's got big plans you see. But it certainly is not a lack of FEMA that is hurting them, it is the big evil insurance companies. Then some blather about woke dems, immigrants, DEI, scary trans child molester's etc and they'll forget all about it.

[–] UberKitten@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

a constitutional convention could end very, very badly..

[–] miguel@fedia.io 8 points 3 days ago

I'm not convinced there's any resolution to this current situation that's not very very bad. I really hope to be proved wrong.

[–] limer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 days ago

There is not one shred of state government capable of that…

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So, does this mean this is going to be the last hurricane season? Phew! About time. Hurricanes suck. Thanks Trump!

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

We all know Hurricanes jumped the shark with the Katrina. Sure there's been a few decent seasons after that, but it's run it's course and it's really time to wind it down. It should draw some big ratings for the finale.

Variety reports there's a spin-off in the works.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 4 points 3 days ago

Lol! You just almost made me spew coffee out of my nose.

[–] disgruntledpelican@lemm.ee 12 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Why wait? Do it now. If it's "useless" get rid of it. Today. Sign it away. Let the people see tomorrow what happens when no one comes to help them after hell on earth.

This man is so fucking stupid.

[–] TheCriticalMember@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago

Not as stupid as the people who continue to support and vote for him.

[–] kewjo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

my prediction of the dumbest timeline is we just nuke them next year

[–] muffedtrims@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Perhaps we could inject the hurricane with bleach

[–] KnitWit@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They are going to replace it with a worse version and call it TRUMPEMA and it’ll just be the worst.

[–] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

It will just be trump giving federal money to his own business with minimal staff.
