decapitate ICE agents

[–] Tarkcanis@lemmy.world 18 points 13 hours ago

This has been comming since 2002/2003 DHS was a huge fucking mistake, and should have been shut down ages ago.

[–] ABetterTomorrow@lemm.ee 8 points 13 hours ago

That’s was a perfect time to kick the nazis in the teeth. Use a camera is you have to.

[–] hector@sh.itjust.works 24 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

As a European I don't understand what ICE is. Is it the police ? Or can I run away and not submit to their authority? Are their just some sort of Hitler's SA squads or more like Gestapo?

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 39 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

It's Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They're a law enforcement branch focusing on people and arterial entering the country. They should be focusing on human traffic and smuggling, but they've been turned into a gestapo.

[–] hector@sh.itjust.works 6 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

So the whole situation in the US happens because those hogs don't have any uniform or legal ground to do what they do right ?

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago

Once they can start disappearing people while wearing uniforms they will.

[–] mjhelto@lemm.ee 36 points 19 hours ago

Gotta cover their faces like a bunch cowards. Fucking pathetic!

[–] mrmule@sh.itjust.works 10 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

And you just stand there and film this? Americans now are some weird kind of fucked up.

[–] callouscomic@lemm.ee 5 points 13 hours ago
[–] MoonRaven@feddit.nl 78 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I'm not from the US, so I'm mega confused... Why are they allowed to take this person after the case was dismissed?

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 79 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Legally they’re not. That’s why they’re masked. That’s why the protests, the complaints, the articles about fascism. The current regime somehow holds themselves above the law, above the Constitution, above human rights. It a combination of a power grab by extremists in the executive branch, collusion from legislature and personal favors in the judicial. Sometimes it really looks like our entire national leadership should be in jail or worse.

[–] TheObviousSolution@lemm.ee 24 points 18 hours ago

It's also as a consequence of states that no longer share the same values. While I'm sure NY has its fair share of assholes working under ICE, how much do you want to bet most of that ICE staff has been brought from places like Texas? They are literally targeting states like NY and LA with military vehicles.

When will the US realize that people no longer hold the same values across state borders and that the only who will win out are the ones who exploit it? This isn't because of the people but because of control of the media and culture, like how Sinclair has been buying up local news stations selectively.

[–] thedruid@lemmy.world 71 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] MoonRaven@feddit.nl 21 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Then why is security not stopping them but stopping everyone else. Fucking hell.

Same reason why security didn't stop the Gestapo in Nazi Germany.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 19 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Widespread fear, caused by terrorism and threat of violence and being disappeared.

[–] thedruid@lemmy.world 10 points 17 hours ago

Yep. Every sniff of complaint gets met with an investigation threat. .

Fascism is currently in control

[–] spooky2092@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Because about 2/3 of the voting population supports this, directly or tacitly.

[–] jnod4@lemmy.ca 14 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

The curelty of the majority. What do you do when the democratic process results in let's say, enslaving a minority, genocide, or mass incarcerations and deportations? Can you go against the will of the population?

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago

While there are way too many who want this cruelty, I have more hope for humanity than that. I have to believe most are low information voters who’ve been manipulated.

I recently had a discussion with my conservative brother, where it was clear that we don’t even live in the same reality. He’s generally a compassionate person, willing to help anyone, but seems to have really bought the narrative. It’s not that he opposes higher education but clearly Harvard is violently antisemitism and the president needs to do something. It’s not that he opposes equal opportunity, but all those DEI hires are taking jobs from people like him. And yes, those deported are all violent criminals (like in my town where masked SS roughed up a city councillor trying to witness the mistreatment of his constituents)

[–] drislands@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (2 children)

If this is the same thing I'm thinking of, the case was to be allowed to immigrate in the US. It was dismissed, so they were no longer legally in the country.

It's rancid bullshit that they were instantly detained, of course, but** there is a logic to it.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 21 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (1 children)

How a normal courthouse arrest would work: Judge asks the court's deputy to take the person into custody and an officer walks up to the person at the podium and tells them they are going to put cuffs on them, tells them their rights, whatever. You have to go through metal detectors and security to enter a courthouse in the U.S. They clearly do not have a weapon on them or it would have been confiscated upon entry during that process. Some our local courthouse do not even allow you to bring your phone in. (This policy varies as the courthouse in the next down does allow you to). Anyways. This man clearly was not running, or fighting and had no weapon on him. So by all definitions he showed up to court as requested and complied with all requirements and was physically assaulted and taken to the ground for no reason.

We need to start putting these officers on trial for assault/battery charges. Note: if such was done here the victim would legally be allowed to stay in the U.S. and have an expedited citizenship case during the court proceedings.

Aka the law would essentially put those officers in jail and grant citizenship to the man who did what he was asked. The fact that it won't happen speaks volumes about how the executive branch is not upholding the legislative branches decisions. Therefore all executive branch members letting this occur should be charged with treason

[–] untorquer@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

With the way qualified immunity works these days, "Whoopsie, disappeared someone, my bad, I'm sowwy" Is a legitimate defense.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 9 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

I'm skeptical. There are documented cases where ICE abducts people literally on their way to be sworn in as US citizens and deports them. Despite what they say, they don't care about people immigrating here legally, it's all about racism.

[–] celeryfc@sh.itjust.works 0 points 10 hours ago

You have a source on that one?

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 130 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Holy shit. Goon squads. They don't even identify themselves??

Imagine a hypothetical scenario where a group of random citizens gang up on an ICE agent during their Sunday stroll and handcuff them, and throw them off a bridge somewhere, handcuffs still on.

How would a sheriff know that they aren't ICE agents themselves? Or are we going by skin colour?

[–] postcapitalism@lemmy.today 9 points 16 hours ago

We need to stop respecting their authority or it will never stop. The thing is people obey when they say “stay back” or we’re going to arrest you” - then these mere men / cowards get the power trip they enjoy.

Fuck Ice.

We need to fight them as having no authority when they operate against the constitution / judges orders.

[–] thedruid@lemmy.world 64 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They don't ID themselves and show a warrant? Fight back. Fuck it. Nothing to lose now. Never go with feds quietly.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 19 points 21 hours ago (4 children)

Nothing to lose now.

Except your freedom, job or life.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 42 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

If you’re being apprehended by ICE, you’re almost certainly losing some of those no matter how you respond. I don’t know that you’ve got better chances if you fight back alone, but if people around you join in and try to unarrest you, you might have a shot at going home that evening.

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 4 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

If you're the one guy being arrested, fighting against 10 agents will only get you bruises and additional charges.

If you're one of the witnesses the chances of unarresting someone are slim and the chances of going to jail are big. I would admire anyone who's brave enough to do it but sad truth is that there are very few people like that out there.

[–] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 19 points 20 hours ago

They aren't agents unless they have a badge and a warrant. Failing to produce those means you are being assaulted by unknown assailants. Your freedom and life are already in danger at that point and you have a legal right to self defense.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 12 points 20 hours ago

Sure, but if I’m going to be kidnapped and sent to a black box prison to die, I don’t know if I would care much about that.

Bystanders who are obviously white and documentably citizens are in the best position to try to unarrest people, if they can. It’s not illegal to prevent a kidnapping if you can, and a group of people who don’t show a warrant or identify themselves taking someone off the street against their will is a kidnapping.

I’m aware that it requires bravery and has very serious potential consequences, but I cannot emphasize enough that just because a person is not currently the target of this type of violence, does not mean that they can stay uninvolved. I understand not wanting to do it, but it’s like not wanting to go to the doctor about a sketchy mole because you’re afraid of hospitals.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 9 points 20 hours ago (4 children)

Nope. Fighting will get me killed. I ALWAYS have a knife on me. I'll take at least two of the shit stains with me though. I know lots of places to strike where you will bleed out in less than a minute.

At least if you assault an officer, you then get an actual court date and get to go to jail, rather than El Salvador.

[–] osaerisxero@kbin.melroy.org 8 points 21 hours ago

Yeah, but when you're going to lose those anyway...

[–] bonsai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 21 hours ago

They're actively taking all of those from us

[–] destructdisc@lemmy.world 107 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Or are we going by skin colour?

Considering ICE recently detained a US Marshal "by mistake", I think that's right on the money

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 13 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

He "fit the general description of a subject being sought by ICE". Clearly, they saw someone with brown skin and went from there. This clearly demonstrates the incompetence and hatred of those directing and working for ICE.

[–] OrganicMustard@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

People should try that, for science. In Minecraft.

[–] rothaine@lemm.ee 19 points 21 hours ago

Is there an article for this?

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

First we created the technology to spread misinformation and hyper tailored propaganda to uneducated people and now that same technology to watch how that propaganda is rotting society to the core.

I can’t even imagine how massive the reset will have to be after this, but every day I can see a bit clearer how things like Atlantis may have happened.

[–] conicalscientist@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

I can't remember where I heard or read this but they pointed out that the technological infrastructure for fascism is already in place.

And it's a terrifying truth. There are who knows how many agencies each one alone with enough personal information on the population to do serious damage. Unfortunately humans react to things. It's not until terrible atrocities occur that the population will require change. Until then we get to watch this slow motion derailing freight train. Some us may inevitably be caught in the path of destruction ourselves.

[–] tryagain@lemmy.ml 24 points 1 day ago

Hello, this is POTUS, gimme a large Distraction with extra Outrage. Last week's bill didn't go down well, so let's fuck with some brown people in LA and NY.

[–] justlemmyin@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago

Fuckedupistanis must be loving these proud fuckedupistani fascists right now to just stand around and watch all of this happen.
