It’s not the rage at all. A minority of misinformed people in Alberta and an even smaller percentage in BC and Saskatchewan are back on their hoser soapboxes.

The people against it are very against it. But whatever, it’s not going to happen without violence, as most of the lands don’t belong to the provinces, it’s mostly treaty or crown, and it triggers some very high feelings.

The way I see it orchestrated by Trump is if the tariffs stay on manufacturing many provinces will be wiped out. Carney will then provide a bailout using funds from Alberta, whose exports will increase due to a devalued Canadian dollar and a 2.5x lower tariff on their higher margin product.

An independent Alberta seems unlikely - I suspect our neighbours to the south would quickly intervene to "liberate" an oil rich region at the first possible excuse. At that point, it would end up as a US territory, like the article suggests.

Smith's fuckery seems like poorly considered pandering at the best of times, but with Trump at the head of the US military it's gonna have nasty consequences.

Bro who mods that space really needs to read this... assuming he'll even listen.

I would except I have it blocked. It’s basically one person spouting nonsense.

Not a single person in any of my peers groups, even those who are only considered "well wishers", considers this "the rage".

"The rage", for me at least, is imagining holding these traitors heads under the water in a beautiful creek running through a meadow on a sunny day, until the bubbles stop.
