Still don't fully agree. The environmental impact of shipping from overseas is costly, so investing in means to create product here rather than overseas should be seen as a necessity.

We grow tomatoes, cucumbers, cannabis, and some bell peppers in green houses here, and should invest in expanding those options available to Canadian consumers.

Look, if he just left it at saying that the protests were fine but the encampment was not, that would at least be understandable.

COMPARING IT TO THE FREEDOM CONVOY? BRUH

Immediate thought that comes to mind is that you can follow the Lemmy and Pixelfed accounts from your Mastodon, which would give you some ease in accessing their posts via Mastodon, and then boost the posts from there.

Hope that helps a bit, tbf cross-platform interactions like this are something I have very limited experience with.

Not entirely. While you can interact with content from other social platforms like Mastodon and PeerTube from Lemmy, federation is best experienced when you utilize platforms with similar use cases.

For example, the link aggregators (Reddit-likes) on the fediverse are Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin, and until recently, Lotide. Each of these platforms have similar looks and purpose with slight differentiation. While you can communicate with video streaming or microblogging like PeerTube and Mastodon respectively, it's best to stay within the link aggregators and make a new account for those purposes.

To give an example with microblogging on the Fediverse, there's also a number of options. Biggest one is Mastodon, but others include Misskey and it's endless forks, Smithereen, Pleroma/Akkoma, Mitra, Threads, etc. all with their own interesting quirks. While they can interact with Lemmy and whatnot, their best interactions are going to be with similar-purposed platforms.

Genuinely surprised Smith is that low. Like, if it took into account how people nationally felt about Smith I'd see this as expected, but the Angus Reid poll referenced seems to be based on the approval ratings of the premiers by their constituents.

I swear not long back Smith had a 60% approval rating here, which is absurd to think about as expected as it is. Wonder if the podcast surfacing pissed people off.

If you can manage to thicken it so that it stays in place, I see no issue. Just with peanut butter and mayonnaise, it's really easy to spread it over the adhesive without it spreading to where you don't need it and it staying in place.

Maybe a paper towel might work, but I'd still worry about preventing it from spreading elsewhere instead of staying place personally.

I've used this trick to get old price stickers off my VHS cases (plastic ones, not cardboard), and to remove branded stickers off glass spice jars I want to reuse and relabel. Always works like a charm after letting it sit for a while.

God, why do they feel entitled to our marketplace? Jesus Christ can they just fuck off?

Will do! I'll look at the smaller communities when I can. Mouse is borked at the moment, so using the Raccoon app on mobile and NumLock keys on the desktop to get around for the time being.

Is that the case? I've been hearing a lot about how unreliable the F-35s have been with it being hard to even get them off the ground half the time due to the maintenance needed on them.

I fucking love this guy, the more I hear about him, the more I want to throw my vote for the Greens.

As much as I wish they would ditch May and make him the sole leader of the party, I might concede my gripes and vote for them anyway since he's just so fucking talented as a person and party leader.

Look up this guy's portfolio, he walks the walk.

So the other day I was in a conversation talking about the MP for my former riding, Greg McLean. I by no means am a Conservative voter, but of the Conservative MPs I can give respect to, Greg McLean is towards the top of the list considering the social issues he's worked on, and his engagement with the community.

I was checking out his website and shockingly found that he has a BlueSky has one of his social platforms. Not only that, but he also uses it regularly, posting multiple times per day. Now this could just be his publicity team rather than him directly, but it still caught me off guard in a positive way that it was a platform he utilized.

It had me thinking. What other MPs use BlueSky and/or Mastodon? I feel having a list would be a useful resource especially in asking other members of parliament by legitimizing the idea of providing a method of following them on social media without using X or Facebook.

Hey all!

Just made the decision to swap to this instance from my PieFed one. Imma keep one of my PieFed accounts to help find bugs with the software and all, but overall I'm going to move here after giving the idea some thought for a few days.

I really want to help the local community on the instance, especially in regards to creating and moderating communities. Is there a list of communities on the instance requiring moderation? If so, I would like to apply for the opportunity to do so after showing regular activity.
