Trailer

In the distant future, mankind has forsaken global wars for battles of single combat. The world has been divided into two opposing super powers, with each side represented by trained champions. Their weapons are huge robotic machines, capable of battle on land, sea and in the air.

You have made my day. I remembered this movie but didn’t remember the name!

Time to revisit some nostalgia

Searching for this movie and finding it after randomly seeing it on cable years before was one of the first things I did on the internet as a kid. Lots of nostalgia for this one.

Achilles: "We can both live!"

Alexander: "We are dead. We are Robot Jox"

I've seen this one! The way the movie just ends after the final match is wild. Not even text to tie up some of the loose ends.

totally agree. they're fighting, beating the crap out of each other, lose the bots, then suddenly... fistbump! roll credits. what

Not enough robot, too much jox.

But seriously, it's a great example of doing a lot with what little budget you've got.

I wondered about this movie almost every time I went to the video store as a kid! Figured it would be too terrible to enjoy and I was a kid so didn't get the simple pleasure of getting baked and watching a terrible movie...

Worth a revisit as a stoned adult?

absolutely!

Who doesn’t love Gomer Pyle as your robot tech?

I could have sworn he was in it as a mechanic/tech but it’s been decades so maybe I’m misremembering another B flick.

Did that Hugh Jackman movie rip this thing off?

Robot Jox is NOT a B-movie. I will call you a dumbass for saying it's a B-movie.
