Red, forever and always. I prefer brighter reds (like vermillion) over darker or more muted shades, but for the most part, red is red and it makes me happy!

Dark Purple

Green. But for clothes I prefer different shades of gray or blue.

There are three weeks in spring - around April - when the trees start sprouting their leaves. And for three weeks the beech leaves have such an incredible light green before they turn darker.

It's so fragile, yet so vibrant. The sun shines through the leaves and illuminates them from the inside. It's a bit milky or hazy but also unbelievably clear and honest. Going through a beech grove during that time feels like I'm in Lothlórien.

Blue all the way, yellow can fuck off

[–] Pilferjinx@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago

Brown. More specifically rust. I tend to enjoy the redder hues more than the yellow these days. But a good amber is beautiful.

Deep blues and grays are amazing

[–] SkaraBrae@lemmy.world 4 points 15 hours ago

When I was young I was all about black. Not goth or emo, but I only really had black clothing and would take the un-coloured option every time. Now that I'm in my late 40s, I really love green. The bright green of spring grass on a sunny day, because the tans and browns of Australian summer and autumn and the greys of winter really wash out the palette of the countryside and the olive greens and blues of eucalyptus are dull, muted colours. My clothes are a lot more colourful, now, too.

Zima Blue - #5BC2E7

It's the colour chosen for Love, Death and Robots adaptation of Alastair Reynolds' Zima Blue. One of my favourite episodes, and the short story is even better.
