Okay, no. Anthem were looking to implement this in Connecticut, New York and Missouri, with Colorado and other states being brought into this policy later on.

Anthem has only backed off this policy in Connecticut. The other states are still currently on the table.

"To be clear, it never was and never will be the policy of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield to not pay for medically necessary anesthesia services. The proposed update to the policy was only designed to clarify the appropriateness of anesthesia consistent with well-established clinical guidelines."

They want to redefine what's considered medically necessary.

Insurance is a misnomer. This is extortion.
