Inflation was a defining issue in the presidential election. Here's how climate change is making everything more expensive.

Ok.

But I WILL blame Biden, Harris, their campaign leadership, and the DNC for sticking to their guns about how tHe EcOnoMY iS DoiNG gReAt when basically the entire middle and lower class are consistently saying “well the economy fucking SUCKS for me” for fucking YEARS

I think a part of the inflation is probably due to cutting off Europe from one of the world's largest gas producers, while simultaneously all high value shipping has to circumnavigate Africa to get to Europe from Asia.

Energy and shipping cost increases are the perfect cover for price gouging

Europe is still buying their gas, but yes oil production is down and that effects inflation. I've heard it had more to do with oil losing money in 2020. It was the first time in history it happened and they freaked out, and cut production. The US government did almost everything to push production back up, but outside of government doing the drilling themselves, I don't think anything will work.

They are, it's just taking indirect routes which adds a premium, and for natural gas I think they're stuck replacing that with ~~mostly~~ ~40% American LNG (about as bad as coal in terms of total ghg emissions), which is expensive too.

As the planet continues to be destroyed, the price of the immense privilege in the imperial core (eg. car dependency) will hopefully become unaffordable.

Ofc the state will "help" by continuing to print endless money in order to violently enforce this privilege.

Considering Bidens been in congress for decades, and high ranking too, does he not have a big share of the blame for how the climate got to where it is today?

I blame the corporations that just raised prices knowing no one would do anything about it while they lie to the public that they cause more climate change than anything on this planet.
