I got tired of doing this so I just started to leave the box on the counter until after I've set a timer. And it gives you something else to do while your pasta or whatever cooks.

It needs to go from hand to trash. If it goes onto the counter it's there for days.

I just make sure the instructions are facing up when they go in the bin. Just needs a quick glance without any extra steps to distract and make you forget. (I got rid of the bin lids as my trash/recycle is usually dry and doesn't smell)

That better be from the pasta region of Italy, otherwise it's just sparkling noodles.

Sparkling noodles

Stop spying me when I'm cooking!

I like how the eyes goes outside the face in this comic

Obligatory comment for all of them.

Agreed, that is my favourite feature of these

I keep the packaging out until I’m done.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

I do the same and then forget to throw it away for a couple days

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 4 points 7 months ago

If I planned ahead I wouldn't be eating instant noodles in the first place!

Unless you know for a fact your local recycling company is good, it truly does not matter, especially in regards to plastics or food contaminated cardboard.

I used to be like this. But at some point, you make enough of something that you just memorize it and you only end up back here when you try something new.

[–] srestegosaurio@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 7 months ago

In that scenario the problem for me is when I accidentally think "how was I supposed to do that?". Everything falls apart then.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

First panel should be throw it in the trash first, then realize you need the cooking instructions.

[–] Mango@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

I'm the quality director of a food packaging company and we have this trash can in the lab for samples we're done with but maybe not done with. We like to call it our filing cabinet. 🤣 We're always digging in that trash to check on things.

Could also just be shit memory.

[–] Martineski@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 7 months ago

ADHD affects working memory a lot so that checks out.

[–] TotalFat@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

The other day, I saw an article suggesting memory might exist throughout the body and not just in the brain. I suppose your shit might contain memories. You might even call it shit memory. And after you drop a deuce, you may lose some memories. Retention takes on a whole new meaning!

[–] ShareMySims@sh.itjust.works 3 points 7 months ago

Take a photo of the instructions.

When you forget to do that, look up the product online, the cooking instructions should be there.

Happened to me more than once...

NO, I'm not having AD(H)D!!! (But that's precisely how I do my cooking. 😬)
