/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Always the push for more "energy efficiency" may lead to more... "direct" ways to get things done.✅

You can waste power atomizing your bowel movements, then reproducing the same identical menu items in the replicator from those recombinant materials, ORRRRR... I run a tube from Janeway's toilet to this processing assembly here and we have a fresh batch of my famous Fecal Treacle Tarts every morning, and twice on Taco Tuesday. Subtly distinct with every one of the Captain's previous day's meals. Extra concentrated flavor when she has had one of my lovely pastries!

Do I even want to know what's inside that "coffee"? ☕😯

Sugar and caffeine is enough - what else matters, amiright!?

If it's brown, gulp it down

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

We already know, it's laxatives. So crew can have some soup once in a while. She just thinks "oh it's the coffee doing its thing" but Neelix knows.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

What does he know? He knows everything!!

[–] qjkxbmwvz@startrek.website 2 points 3 weeks ago

Janeway's toilet would just be full of coffee that's had the caffeine extracted. So...decaf. Blech!

I wonder if the feces of certain alien species is like some serious gourmet shit to humans. And vice versa. Can we make a closed shit-eater ecosystem with a few species?

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

There's a coffee we make from the shit of this South American cat

[–] abfarid@startrek.website 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, I had kopi luwak in mind with this comment, although technically, people consume the undigested beans, clean off all the poo content :(

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

We already do. Plants excrete CO2, humans breathe it in and vice versa.:-)

[–] abfarid@startrek.website 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That's respiration, I'm talking specifically defecation. I want alien poop! >:(

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Well don't let me stop you... :-P Chase your dreams!

[–] abfarid@startrek.website 3 points 3 weeks ago

You can't!

Janeway There's poo in that nebula!

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 25 points 3 weeks ago

That zoom in is diabolical.

[–] rustyfish@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Neelix seems to be a big 40K fan!

Or Judge Dredd.

Or Grim Dark in general.

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Voyager was pretty grim and dark at times.

The end of Tuvix act III for no reason. "Get in the beam Tuvix" "But I am a person and I don't want to, plus I've been alive over a year, it's CRAZY to think you can just kill me to resurrect two other guys I'm distinct from." "GET IN THE FUCKING BEAM TUVIX!" "I WONT" "You will with a fucking gun I printed out last weak for this in your mouth you goddamned transporter malfunction, you have no individuality or soul or anything, get. in. the. fucking. beam." Transporter malfunction resolved The End.

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Wait, they let him live a year? Damn

Edit: No, he was alive for 3 weeks.

[–] kahdbrixk@feddit.org 11 points 3 weeks ago

It's hilarious cause I really hate Neelix. Thanks for sharing. Never understood why 90s shows always had to have this mainly annoying but also comic relief side character. I stand with mainly annoying. Soooo annoying.

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago

"I need to ask Seven if she can hook me up with some implants and my own regeneration alcove."

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 10 points 3 weeks ago

I didn't think it was possible for me to hate Neelix more than I already do. The implication that he feeds people shit for his own amusement since replicators exist kinda makes it worse.

[–] wjrii@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago

Is the theme for today "Turdsday"?

[–] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

My pudding tastes funny!!

[–] joyjoy@lemm.ee 6 points 3 weeks ago

I know how fertilizer works too.

[–] UpperBroccoli@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 weeks ago

What, did you think Leola Root Stew tasted like that for no reason?

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Janeway: MMMMmmm Soylent Tuvix, excellent!

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

I do love fusion food...

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 3 points 3 weeks ago

I thought that it was just the food synthesizer that did this.
