Not this time. ... goddamnit

You deserve everything you get Texas.

And Georgia. Fuck you

And America.

At least Allred was able to pull in some Republicans that voted foe Trump.

Last I checked, Cruz has 200,000 less votes than Trump and Allred had 100,000 votes more than Harris.

It's so disappointing that Allred is behind by 1,000,000 votes, which is close to the number of voters purged IIRC.

He's slated to win the popular vote. People wanted him..so we deserve whatever regime they impose on the American people

[–] WrenFeathers@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

No one that didn’t vote for that piece of shit deserves him.

Fun fact: a used condom hanging from a tree branch by the interstate has more rigidity than Ted Cruz’s spine.

It has also been said that it smells better than Ted’s soft teeth.

My wife and I did our part. Now if USPS Express Mail would deliver our ballots, that would be great.

UPDATE:

At this point i'm convinced the USPS has been sabotaged to disrupt mail in voting.

I've had a piece of registered mail go missing just one month ago despite the tracking... I had a small package shipped from NJ end up in Iowa for some reason just yesterday, despite the destination being Boston.

The USPS is in a really poor place with all the private competition taking the lucrative package shipments. It's a shame we basically let them out to dry and accept service level decreases year after year so that we don't have to fund it at all with taxes. IMO there should be a fee levied for every package shipped by third party delivery services that benefits the USPS because mail is simply too important to all aspects of a country to forsake.

Yep, that's a pretty big chunk of it. Most of it's just a typical right-wing grift though, privatizing public services in the name of "cost savings".

Louis DeJoy is the current postmaster general, appointed by Trump in 2020. DeJoy also just so happens to be the founder and former CEO of XPO Logistics, a company that still has active contracts with the USPS to this day.

Color. Me. Suprised.

[–] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I checked and my UT mail in was counted, though washed away by all the red Mormons, but I absolutely suspect foul play with that orange cunt leading

Probably worth going in person, explaining the situation, and asking for a provisional ballot.

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I am over a thousand miles away. Otherwise I would have voted early.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Weird to see my old zip code on here

[–] Badeendje@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I cannot wait for the next John Oliver if that happens.

[–] uniquethrowagay@feddit.org 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I do not like this man Ted Cruz.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I do not like his ego bruise

I do not like him in defeat

That man Ted Cruise, had best retreat!

[–] Murvel@lemm.ee 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't think John Oliver is alive anymore..

[–] Badeendje@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

It's a sad day.

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is that race close? I remember being optimistic before and getting dashed, so I haven't paid attention to that one this time around.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Yes, Collin Allred has apparently been hitting out of the park, way better and closer than the last D candidate to get close to unseating Ted Cruz

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (3 children)

Cruz won over Beto at 2.6%, 538 is projecting Cruz at +4% over Allred. What am I missing?

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 8 points 3 days ago (2 children)

The Iowa poll is the key to this whole thing.

The Setzer poll tosses out what past elections use as a base for their calculations. She goes off what's happening now and it's an extremely reliable poll.

#VOTE!!

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Aged like milk. What a shame.

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I'm going to ask this dumb question in the interest of learning: I understand and agree Setzer is solid at polling Iowa, but what does it have to do with the Texas Senate?

[–] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago

Polls are going off old data, not taking in account the new voters, and the Republicans dropped 30 shitty right-wing polls that skewed the data.

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Cruz with a 10% lead, lol. Texans like it, I guess.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Same as 2022. I've been saying for months that Allred was running the wrong kind of campaign. For all of his flaws Beto O'Rourke did better than any Democrat has in like the last 30 years. Instead of following that strategy of high energy and high engagement Allred ran a low energy passive campaign that spent all this energy targeting Republican and moderate voters. Insanity. In essence he ran the same tired Texas democratic party campaign as everyone else who gets their ass kicked in this state does.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Can't really trust the polls, from what I've been reading they've been overcompensating for the "Trump R factor" not to mention all the shady Republicans polls that keep dumping trash data that are all "Oh yea it's gonna be a total Trump landslideee!!!! Trust me brooo!"

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

and unlike Beto, he didn't say Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Beto didn't say that during the senate race he said that during the presidential race a few years later

[–] podperson@lemm.ee 4 points 2 days ago

Well I think the oval office would be much more well suited to a 100% carbon-based humanoid like Ted Cruz:

[–] RangerJosie@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Him fucking off back to Canada would also be acceptable.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

You've had that every day in his abortion of a face, even when he wins an election.
