I'm pretty sure he would still be running for president because imprisonment is not a disqualifyer for candidacy, and that would still be his only shot at a pardon for at least 4 more years.

Would his voting base even care? I have no idea.

Preferably by popping an aneurism whilst taking a shit. At a rally or something. Right there on stage.

The problem is that he stacked the Supreme Court; they all knew that the SCOTUS would side with him.

So they didn't challenge the issue with the probable intent of avoiding a supreme court precedent making him completely untouchable.
