Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

I'd be laughing pretty hard at this if it wasn't so damn depressing. The clapback comments are good.

That piece of shit is STILL at USPS. Guarantee he'll be trying to pull some last minute bullshit again.

Accidental admission it is!

This old man needs to step away and let someone younger run for president. He clearly has no idea what he's saying, and probably doesn't know what day / year it is. When will his party call for him to step down? How can he function without drooling all over his oatmeal?

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 months ago

I don’t think they can. There are republicans and there are Trumpers. Yes, republicans vote the right party line and will almost always vote Republican over Democrat. However, Trumpers only want Trump. Republicans fear that if they push out Trump, Trump will prevent them from winning

Correct. He tried to rig it, but was too stupid and still lost.

Trump was referring to a report, originally published by the Wall Street Journal, which states Meta/Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg sent a letter to Republican House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan saying he wants his platforms to be "neutral" in politics, and that he regrets removing or downplaying some content, including COVID disinformation, in response to White House pressure.

This was at the very start of 2021, before people had access to vaxxes, and good ole' Zuck regrets that his platform tamped down on covid lies. I hope he fucking chokes.

"...wants his platforms to be "neutral" in politics, and that he regrets removing or downplaying some content, including COVID disinformation"

To quote a great man: "Reality has a well known liberal bias."

Trump claimed 3 million illegal votes in the election... that he won in 2016. After becoming president and claiming the largest voter fraud in the history of democratic counties, he did nothing to investigate the thousands of people that would have to have been involved. Hundreds or thousands of precincts would been involved with tens of thousands of people. There would be an avalanche of evidence to find... yet Trump did nothing. Obviously because there was nothing but at that moment I realized Trump had no problem making accusations that could be very easily disproven. Trump supporters have nothing to say about this.

Edit: this leaves only two outcomes, either Trump was right about the illegal votes and is the most incompetent president of all time by not calling for investigations, or, Trump was lying and damaging the democracy making him the most incompetent president of all time.

Ok, it’s worse than I thought. I expect Trump to make comments about it being rigged, that’s normal enough.

What I didn’t expect, even despite the title here, is that he’d claim the White House pushed Facebook to suppress content in 2020, making it a rigged election. But he was the White House at the time!

Zuckerberg also referenced a now-infamous Hunter Biden laptop article in the New York Post. Zuckerberg writes in his letter, "the FBI warned us about a potential Russian disinformation operation about the Biden family and Burisma in the lead up to the 2020 election."

Trump writes: "Zuckerberg admits that the White House pushed to SUPPRESS HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY (& much more!). IN OTHER WORDS, THE 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WAS RIGGED. FoxNews, New York Post, Rep. Laurel Lee, House Judiciary Committee."

Sounds to me like an admission of guilt.
