Yeah, but all they heard were campaign ads. And what little news they did hear either is actually propaganda that came from Fox News or their local news that's actually part of Sinclair.

That combined with the shenanigans of social media the last few years, yep, low information voters only wind up hearing the lies they were meant to hear.

But they don't. They just formm small communities and slowly work their way back up to power.

Might take 50+ years, but it'll happen again and again until crushed out.

I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."

And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed

Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them."

And i was like, ohok and he continues.

"you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."

And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven't forgotten that at all.

It's pretty common in NY state and other areas of New England. Outside of that area however, the term is rarely used outside of shopping centers, apartment complexes, or HOA governed planned housing communities.

You can also use the workflow_dispatch execution pattern and use some data input params and execute through the portal interface.

However, do be careful about trusting input params without sanitizing them (GH has docs around this).

I'm glad that Bluesky is seeing a boost in user registration and X is loosing users. Great news for the fediverse, even though Bluesky is fediverse-lite.

However, the editor that chose that headline should be fired.

The ambiguous wording and lack of commas for the "of unhappy x users" probably boosts engagement though. So I guess TechCrunch's bottom line gets boosted and they'll get praise instead.

Docker issues are always fun. I've repeatedly ran into docker kubernetes ssl certs being blocked by my ISP because they are dumb. Recently switched ISPs that let let's me actually have that control.

Unless I'm doing a simple bash or pwsh script, I prefer to use GHA Script due to the headaches caused by how things are translated down and missing quotes/slashes/etc can cause massive headaches.

I've been meaning on spending a morning getting Nektos/ACT running.

Registration doesn't require a party affiliation.

Party affiliation doesn't require voting for the party you've affiliated with.

Who/what you voted for is anonymous.

Am I supposed to cheer him on or laugh at him for being weird?

This is great news.

However highlighting the "enormous amount of effort" came off as immflamatory as a headline. Now to prove to them that we appreciate the effort they put into this.

I too grew up in the in that era. But grew up in the Detroit area where nearly everybody knew something about cars due to how many people worked in the auto industry and how the knowledge was prevelant and shared amongst friends and peers. Auto shops were still a thing, but largely used for jobs nobody wanted to do, didn't have access to the tools, or didn't have the time to invest

Sweet.

In the next 5 years nobody will have to use computers anymore.

I love how AI is being used to solve problems that don't exist! It's the biggest boon for society ever!
