Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"... if he is willing to get off the couch" - Walz said at the speech

[–] sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 57 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He made a couch joke!! ❤️

[–] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 28 points 3 months ago

What’s JD Vance’s least favorite type of couch?

A pull out couch

[–] simplejack@lemmy.world 49 points 3 months ago

This guy is the fun uncle American deserves.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 28 points 3 months ago

Vance responded that he was trying to get the couch off but his tongue hurts and he thinks he’s having a carpal tunnel flare up.

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago

I mentioned in another thread the guy was funny.

Gotta be to be a teacher.

[–] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 16 points 3 months ago

JD is a selfish lover confirmed. A real man gets the couch off too

Have a link that isn't to a shit platform owned by a megalomanic fascist?

Walz:

And I got to tell you, I can't wait to debate the guy. That is if he's willing to get off the couch and show up.

😂

Get out off the couch? Vance has to get out of the couch first.

[–] doctordevice@lemmy.ca 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

No, no, he has to get the couch off first.

[–] modifier@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Say what you will about JD, but don't call him an inconsiderate couch fucker.

This man knows how to romance a piece of upholstery. This man is a master of the art of couchilingus. This man can fluff a damn cushion, and I respect him for that, I do.

But he's a weird creepy regressive goblin who will happily usher in the end of democracy in America, so there is that.

[–] rarbg@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 months ago

don't call him an inconsiderate couch fucker.

[–] Crikeste@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

… or get off ON the couch… 😎

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 43 points 3 months ago (1 children)

JD Vance after hearing the news:

[–] holycrap@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago

I'm surprised there isn't a deep fake of this. Then again your version is arguably better.

[–] _sideffect@lemmy.world 36 points 3 months ago (1 children)

These two seem really high energy and push hard against their opponents... The democrats needed this!

[–] nonailsleft@lemm.ee 16 points 3 months ago

Nonono they should have just gone with the geriatric wax statue

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 34 points 3 months ago (3 children)

If Vance accepts, I wonder how many couch references Walz would sneak into the debate?

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I would live for him to drop them to see how pissed Vance would get.

[–] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social 17 points 3 months ago

And he would have to ignore them, else he would compound the Streisand Effect of trying to explain to America how he doesn't actually make love to furniture.

[–] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 3 months ago

Sofa king many

[–] nonailsleft@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

Better get 2 bottles ready

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 16 points 3 months ago

I can't wait to see this as well.

[–] sarcasticsunrise@lemmy.world 14 points 3 months ago

Walz just graduated from stage cooking and he's already serving JD up like a executive chef at a Michelin rated restaurant, can't wait for this

A friend used to tell me that the modern GOP was the ghost of Nixon haunting everybody.

But here we have the ghost of LBJ, who said "I just want to make the SOB deny it!"

[–] Bernie_Sandals@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

But here we have the ghost of LBJ,

I knew Walz's energy reminded me of somebody, except his is probably even better cause he's hopefully never committed rampant sexual assault in the White House just for the laughs.

[–] modifier@lemmy.ca 13 points 3 months ago

So that's how you Vice President, for anyone taking notes at home.

[–] papacraw@lemm.ee 10 points 3 months ago
