I have a feeling this is going to impact total COD revenues, but I could be wrong.
Unless this is part of their enshittification strategy where they will massively raise prices and make franchises Game Pass exclusive once they get a large enough foothold in the market.
They had to sign a 10 year deal to allow COD on other platforms in order for the courts to allow the acquisition to go through. After that they'll almost certainly go exclusive, they didn't pay Activision King Blizzard $75 billion just to keep the status quo. Xbox isn't in the games business, they're in the game pass business.
World of Warcraft and Elder Scrolls Online subscription rolled into Gamepass to convert mmo players into Gamepass subscribers.
Diablo 5: Sold individually at launch but accessing new seasons require Gamepass. Same with CoD.
Minecraft Base Game F2P and packaged with every Windows OS. Full game with updates and multiplayer require Gamepass subscription though.
